Was a lucky girl and got a modern tv for my birthday. Dd has mentioned and I agree we ought to get something that'll let us watch Netflix and catchup tv etc on it.

I know there's Amazon Fire stick, now tv what others are there?

Amazon firestick is all you'll need Smile

I have a Chromecast and an Amazon Fire stick.

I use the Fire Stick more, as it has its own remote control - I don't have to use my phone or computer to control it.

Do I need Amazon prime membership with fire stick? It's mainly for watching catch up and Netflix tried Amazon but content wasn't for me

We have a fire stick and you can just download the Netflix app/iPlayer app etc onto it. I do have a prime membership also (for the next day delivery) but as you say the content on Netflix is better so we use that most of the time.

If you got a modern tv, then you shouldn't need anything etc? Most tv's made in the last 3-4 years or so have apps built in, which include things like Netflix and BBCiplayer. Which tv do you have?

Can you use YouTube on a Firestick? It's no longer supported on my LG smart TV. What about the 4OD or whatever it's called now?

Synecdoche · 20/08/2017 18:00

Yup you can download Youtube onto the firestick
