I've already warned the children that the tv is mine at 8.

Did I hear her right, did she say Charles and herself only met one another 13 times before they got married?

ClashCityRocker · 06/08/2017 20:05

Dh is.

I don't think it's morally right to release video tapes of her talking about personal stuff when she has no scope to reply.

Nor does he, but he's a hypocritical fucker!

pieceofpurplesky · 06/08/2017 20:07

No. Her children don't want them shown so they shouldn't be shown. She cannot respond, they were private and nobody else's business.

It makes me dislike the media even more.

eddiemairswife · 06/08/2017 20:31

From what has been leaked to the Daily Mail she said some pretty unpleasant things about Charles, and they were hardly private as she was talking to her voice coach, and must have known that others might get hold of them

QueenofBlah · 06/08/2017 20:32

I thought she said they'd had sex 13 times before they got married Grin.

They're padding the programme out a lot with old footage. Not many new revelations.

bingobunny · 06/08/2017 20:51

Yes so far there isn't that much new it's so sad though

CakeNinja · 06/08/2017 21:12

I just walked into the front room to switch off the tv that had been left on with no one watching - the interview bits that I saw both from her and a man were so mumbled I've literally no idea what was said.
Enunciate!
Switched it off but agree that it's very off that they've been publicised.

That was a cracking documentary. Gave Diane's side of the story and I think it was a good idea and important to air her own words. Basically it drove her crazy that her husband was having an affair that started early on in the marriage. It guess it would drive most women crazy. Plain and simple was the message coming directly from Diane and her supports.

emilybrontescorset · 07/08/2017 12:39

He was in love with Camilla from the start but was told he couldn't marry her.
He had to marry a certain type of woman and she fitted the bill more than anyone else.
He was 35 I think when they married, unable to marry a woman of a similar age due to her having been around the block.
It was a mind of arranged marriage, all royal marriages were to some extent.
The future kings wife is there only as a figure head and to provide an heir.
Looking back on history virtually everyone king had mistresses.

eddiemairswife · 07/08/2017 13:27

He was 32. One of Diana's sisters married a man 16 years older. I'm pretty sure that Georges 5 and 6 didn't have mistresses, but the rest probably did. Would the gay kings have 'masters'?

SpanishFly · 07/08/2017 14:51

Of course she wanted these taped seen. She said in the tapes that her bodyguard was killed, that Charles was having an affair from day one, that she'd never be queen. You don't say those things to an "outsider" if theyre confidential. Especially not to a voice coach - it wasn't like it was a therapist or anything

SpanishFly · 07/08/2017 14:53

*tapes

SpanishFly · 07/08/2017 14:54

The royal family just seem to have their own rules, it's bizarre

emilybrontescorset · 07/08/2017 15:26

They have always slept around because they could never marry for love.
Of course you might strike lucky and grow to love your wife but that is coincidental.
At 32 most women have had sec and been ' had' by another man. As blunt as it seems that was the reality for Charles, the powered that be our tremendous pressure on him to marry someone who was pure, amongst other things.
He had dated both her sisters and asked at least one of them to marry him but they refused,
Also at the time of the wedding 32 was old for a future king to marry.
Camilla had married someone else so it was absolutely not on in any shape or form that he could marry her at that time.
Diana herself was unsure of proceeding with the marriage but was pushed into it by her vile grandmother who wanted her granddaughter to marry into royalty at any cost.

emilybrontescorset · 07/08/2017 15:28

There was reportedly a quote which said that when Diana confided that she was unsure if she should go ahead with the wedding as it didn't feel right, she was told ' well it's too late now dear, your face is on the tea towels.'

Housewife2010 · 07/08/2017 18:07

He dated her sister Sarah. He didn't date Jane.
