I saw the trailer and got very excited, can't wait. We live the YSA one but the cooking is shite. I love all the UK ones too but it is a different beast here. U.K. Celeb MC starts this Wednesday. I'm gonna OD

Am I able to watch it without a Sky subscription? Given Sky up and this is the only programme I miss!

It's on W, which you might be able to get with a Now TV subscription but I'm not sure.

I'm in the same boat, Chocolatear, will mist MCAus this year but it was literally the only thing we watched on Sky which made Sky just not worth the money anymore

Pressure test is really hard! Yummy though. Anyone know where in UK you can eat similar food?

Anyone else pleased that freckly Emily didn't get the last apron? I thought they were lining her up as a favourite. Mind you, I predict that someone will drop out for unexplained reasons - too many cooking lessons, broken neck - and she'll get in

I love this show!
I way prefer it to the UK one as they have to think on their feet more and have less practiced dishes like the UK one.

One question though - do the judges eat all the food cold / melting?

You see the contestants cooking away, benched FULL of used bowls, pans etc. Then it's time up and they start calling them up one by one for the judges to taste and their benches are all cleaned and empty.

So the food must be hanging around quite a while? How come all the ice-creams etc don't melt and the hot food must be all cold by then ?

So who are we all backing this year then - is it Jess did the Tea Ceremony and then the mash potato dumplings with chocolate and salt and vinegar? She's wacky and seems to struggle with the basic stuff a bit so not sure she'll make it to end. Arum a contender and they seem to be highlighting Eloise but that could be just her cool hair... There's still too many of them at the mo!

Can't yet work out who anyone is although beaver-toothed Arum is an early favourite just because we can remember his name

We do "drink along-a Masterchef" - for every time they say "beautiful", which is A LOT

Does anyone know when this year's series is due to start? I've done some (careful to avoid spoilers) Googling to no avail. I know the new series has started in Aus.

Ohhhhhh watched the 2016 one last year and was completely hooked. Which channel is it on?

YES!!!!
This is my favourite program on TV. The British one seems so tame in comparison

It normally airs here late summer on W. I follow on fb but try not to absorb the details of who is who. Interesting looking guests and tasks this year, way superior to UK version.

I didn’t watch the uk one the whole way through after watching the Au MC. The American one makes my teeth itch tho

Oh no, virgin dropped W. Strangely, we have Sky in the basement so we'll have to go there to watch it. Can't wait!
