A call out mention to all the fans of the wonderful , and sadly cancelled, ITV series Home Fires, that Simon Block, the creator of the series, has written the first of a planned series of kindle books, taking the story forward.( At least we will find out what happened after the plane crashed! )
I just bought the first mini called "Keep The Home Fires Burning", and there are more you can preorder and the real book version will be out in October this year.

Ah - I really enjoyed that series. Never get round to reading, other than on holiday though.

Oh that's brilliant news. I really enjoyed the serues and couldn't understand why it was dropped. I also enjoyed the series about the setting up of Chester Zoo. That never got a second series either; such a shame.

Interesting, I liked that series - and didn't really understand why it got canned.

Similarly, the 'new' upstairs downstairs went the same way.

I don't understand why it was dropped, Home Fires was a excellent, as was the revamped Upstairs, Downstairs, that was miles better than downton abbey, had a far better writer in Heidi Thomas. It's such a shame when rubbish like X factor factory grinds on and on...

Thanks for this. I was gutted when home fires got cancelled. Btw red fairy are you talking about The Secret Life of the Zoo because there's been about 3 or 4 more series' of that.

Awww, has it been canned? I didn't know, I was eagerly awaiting the next series
