I'm recovering from surgery.

Enjoying an audiobook Life after Life by Kate Atkinson and have caught up on a few recorded things but would like some suggestions for TV series I might find on catch up on Sky?

I enjoy: generally prefer British to US mainly because of the constant recapping in US documentary commentary.
Non Fiction: Who Do You Think You Are?, Long Lost Family, any family history things, History generally (though have had WW1&WW2 overload thanks to DH), real crime investigations (not the ones with salacious details it's the jigsaw I enjoy). Documentaries on subjects in which I'm interested.

Fiction:
Enjoyed: Prime Suspect, Broadchurch (series 1 best despite the terrible accents), Apple Tree Yard, Line of Duty, Downton, Midwife: good UK dramas. Not great on films as can only concentrate in the cinema though guess I have the time now... open to good US series too - would I like Game of Thrones? Not great on fantasy though
I have seen a couple of Harry Potter films.
Almost anything featuring Sarah Lancashire , Nicola Walker, Keeley Hawes or Rebecca Front.

Excited to receive suggestions! Thanks everyone.

OP,

Hope your recuperation goes speedily and as comfortably as possible.

You enjoy history/ family history, so I recommend this, on All4 (channel 4 catch-up):

www.channel4.com/programmes/the-queens-mother-in-law

Jaw-dropping!

The woman was born deaf, yet spoke and lip-read in 4 languages; survived Greek and French revolutions;
ran battlefield hospitals;
endured a breakdown, an asylum for nearly 3 years, being forcibly removed from her family, and experimented on by Freud;
hid Jewish refugees from the Nazis;
founded her own religious order...all the while playing Canasta and smoking Woodbines). Smile

Fascinating, even (or maybe particularly?) for any anti-Royalists, I would think..

no sure about sky but netflix has the old line of duty series on there
and the thick of it
and peep show

24 hours in police custody is good - that's on all 4
