Tonight's program is 90 minutes.

BBC 1 20.30

Anyone planning on watching? I'm interested to hear how the problem can be prevented.

RandomMess · 03/07/2017 21:05

Me too, utterly depressing Sad

HalfShellHero · 03/07/2017 21:06

I do hope amongst other things that Sara Rowbottom gets the recognition she deserves.

userofthiswebsite · 03/07/2017 21:07

I watched the drama which was a re-enactment of this a few weeks ago and think they said in real life that she was moved department after this whole thing and they eventually let her go...

Shameful.

Hepzibar · 03/07/2017 21:13

The CIT was disbanded a few years ago. Shameful really but that's Rochdale Borough Council for you.

HalfShellHero · 03/07/2017 21:17

I do wonder when rotherham will get the same kind of attention. Shameful how these girls were treated amd yes in total agreement with the asian men , imams etc kept shamefully silent about something they knew was going on...i dont agred with pointing fingers at joe average but community leaders on both sides were appalling.

RandomMess · 03/07/2017 21:41

Nearly everyone let those girls down, it's just disgusting.

HalfShellHero · 03/07/2017 21:44

Whats with that man saying the P word ? I can totally understand the anger Angry

Igottastartthinkingbee · 03/07/2017 21:50

He's recounting what one of the girls said.

HalfShellHero · 03/07/2017 21:57

Oh right thankyou ..

That clip of Rowbottom was heartbreaking.

FannyWisdom · 03/07/2017 22:17

This is only Rochdale.

More is coming.
How many haven't even been recorded?

Yeah im wondering/hoping when rotherham will get an all indepth look. I hope it isnt left to rot at the wayside.

Igottastartthinkingbee · 04/07/2017 12:55

The MP for Keighly looked horrified to learn it wasn't just in her area. I dread to think how big a problem this actually is. What those men did was despicable. How couldn't they see what they were doing was wrong?

newdaylight · 04/07/2017 13:06

"The CIT was disbanded a few years ago. Shameful really but that's Rochdale Borough Council for you."

That was NHS actually. Not defending councils actions on this case obviously.

The serious case review makes interesting reading though. The CIT team come off with the most credit but are certainly not blameless on the whole event of services not responding properly (as has been presented in the media recently). For example the CIT team talked about making about 200 referrals but in fact did not follow procedure at all and in fact only made 3 proper referrals, and often didn't make referrals after the most significant events.

However...that was clearly used as an excuse to not listen or respond to the information they were putting across.

Oblomov17 · 04/07/2017 16:50

Thought the programme was very very poor, and presented nothing new, compared to the 3 Girls programme, aired in May 17.

Hepzibar · 09/07/2017 17:58

newday agree nhs apols.

It's a while ago I read them but Early Break got some credit for their response? There was no mention in the program of the number of SCR's that took place and the learning that came out of them.

Rochdale is a different place since then and the Sunrise team are exceptional in the preventative and support work they do with victims, potential victims and raising awareness of CSE.
