Is anyone watching? Has watched?
What happened to the elder brothers?
Does anyone find the make up distracting (esp on Leah)?

I watched it. Didn't notice the make up to be honest and I don't think it said what happened to the brothers. Great series though.

It's on netflix?! That's tomorrow night sorted. I read the book years and years ago and it was amazing.

Agree it was a great series. Binge watched last night, and it's not my usual fare on Netflix (more of a thriller watcher normally). I can't compare it to the book as I haven't read it.
I feel sorry for Leah, she's madly in love with Jacob who only has eyes for Rachel and favors her son. Then she loses her daughter.

I really enjoyed it. I loved the subversion of the Rachel/bilhah relationship as sisterly co-wives rather than the perspective that is taken for example in the habdmaid's tale.
Of course in reality it probably was more like the latter but I do love the retelling of the patriarchal fables with a female centred viewpoint

I liked the book, so will give this a go.

Stumbleine · 23/06/2017 19:27

Ooh thanks for this! I had no idea it had been made into a series. I loved the book.

TheSecondOfHerName · 23/06/2017 19:49

Strong cast, but there's something v. Lifetime mini series about it.

TheSecondOfHerName · 23/06/2017 20:29

I've worked out what it is; it's the music. A lot of Lifetime dramas have that background music.

BonnesVacances · 23/06/2017 20:41

I also read the book eons ago so will have a look at this. I can't remember what happened, just that I enjoyed it. Thanks for the heads up. Will come back and discuss afterwards.

It was on UK Drama recently. I really enjoyed it. I read the book a few years ago and want to read it again now.
