Just saw this on BBC3 iPlayer, the ten year anniversary of the attack. A heartbreaking watch.

I could never watch it,
Absolutely terrible what happened

MrsFring · 18/06/2017 19:11

Sobering statistic at the end about the staggering rise in hate crimes since then...

I thought it was good. The only thing I would say was why did they make it look like the one police woman was working on the case alone. Sophie's mum was on This Morning the other day. She goes into schools to talk about what happened. She is so brave.

This was just so heartbreaking to watch. I just can't understand what possessed them to attack them and those sentences where poor given the awful way they killed her.

I'm watching this at the minute. I'm astounded this has gone so under the radar on here. It is heartbreaking, honest television and should be watched by everyone. I think it does justice to the obviously strong relationship they had and I have such respect for Robert Maltby for contributing so much to this programme.

Watched this on BBC1 tonight. It was hard to watch knowing the outcome but the story was well told.
Would absolutely recommend to watch, not something to be enjoyed but a stark reminder of how human beings should treat one another.

I recorded it last night and just finished watching. It took ages, because I had to keep stopping until I could bear to continue. I'm still crying. I knew a lot about this case already and it's completely heartbreaking Sad

I've met both Sylvia and Sophie's brother Adam through their work in schools - very brave people and the work they now do is amazing.

Squ1ggle · 14/07/2017 19:32

I knew Sophie through her brother and I haven't been able to bring myself to watch it yet

AnyFucker · 14/07/2017 19:32

I watched it too and sobbed the whole way through

What evil people can do to each other.

Sophie looked a sweet girl on her photographs and I found it very distressing to think about her and Robert being so chuffed at being invited to their own attacks

Thank God that young man found his conscience in the end

Choccy21 · 17/03/2022 20:15

I just read that one of her killers is to be released. That poor family.

Samcro · 17/03/2022 20:26

I am so angry
How can that sick fuck serve so little time

Choccy21 · 18/03/2022 11:13

Apparently Ryan was a good boy in prison and his release is recommended.

But I don’t want people who kick young girls to death to be free living amongst my children.

Samcro · 18/03/2022 16:07

he should have been kept in forever. she was just living her life.
