She's in every episode! She goes to the doctor an awful lot Confused I didn't realise there were people who visit their GP so often, for as far as I can see, not very much!

I love this show. I can't think who Thelma is, but I'm about to watch tonight's episode.

Sparklingbrook · 14/06/2017 21:06

Which one is Thelma?

TroysMammy · 14/06/2017 21:07

There is. Sometimes it seems a GP's appointment list is a duplicate of one the month before. Patients marvel at my memory as I greet them by name and even more so when I recognise their voice over the phone. Mainly it's because they are regulars. My colleagues say I'm like an elephant. I think they mean I'm grey and wrinkly Grin

Thelma is the large, chatty lady towards the end of tonight's episode.

Is Thelma the fairly young one with various chronic pain problems? She's on an awful lot of medication, so presumably needs a lot of monitoring and guidance if it is the woman I'm thinking of.

ShatnersBassoon · 14/06/2017 21:10

Ah, I'm thinking of the wrong person, and I'm watching with a delay, so haven't got to her yet.

Snap8TheCat · 14/06/2017 21:10

Doesn't it drive you mad Troy? Especially if it's all minor stuff that could be treated at home, OTC or pharmacy advice?

TroysMammy · 14/06/2017 21:21

Yes it does. I can't imagine ringing my GP for some of the stuff I deal with but every day is different and that is what I love about the job, the anticipation. Snap are you a GP's Receptionist too?

Snap8TheCat · 14/06/2017 21:29

No I'm not but I know how frustrating it is trying to get an appointment when you're really poorly and they're all gone by 8.02am. Sad

Sparklingbrook · 14/06/2017 21:30

At my GPs there's a 24 hour automated appointment booking line. No need to talk to the Receptionist, just press buttons. I would imagine loads of people book multiple appointments. Must drive them mad.

TroysMammy · 14/06/2017 21:57

Family block bookings. When I was a child I don't remember all our family being ill at the same time and we never went to the doctors all together.

GiraffesCantPlayHopScotch · 14/06/2017 22:03

I must catch up on this show

FreeNiki · 14/06/2017 22:06

Is it a new series? Or a repeat?

Snap8TheCat · 14/06/2017 22:30

It was a new one on channel 5 this evening.

There's the lass with three kids who always turns up late and then moans at the doctors for making her wait for her appointment while her kids run riot. She pops up a lot! Last time she turned up an hour late I think and then complain that the doctor needed to send her to the hospital to have the cysts on her stomach drained. Lovely one she is!
