Can I ask a plot question about The Good Wife please? (Contains spoilers)

I've just finished series 2 of The Good Wife, and I wondered why everyone believes Blake when he says that Kalinda and Peter had sex when she was working for him. He has no proof, just a load of guesswork. He's lied about things in the past, and nobody who knows him really trusts him. Alicia knows that Blake tried to implicate Kalinda in an assault by leaving a glass with her fingerprints at the scene of the crime. So why is it that when she hears about the sex allegation, knowing that it originated with Blake, she immediately believes it to be true?

It's been a while since I watched it, but I didn't think anyone denied it?And there's that whole Blake-Kalinda scene in the underground parking bit.

It's true that neither Peter nor Kalinda denied it when asked, but Alicia believed it before that. The very second that she heard she left the victory party and rented an apartment for Peter to move into.

Kalinda didn't admit it in the car park to Blake, but both she and Peter acted as though there was evidence out there about the one night stand, when it was actually just their word against his.

I think that the sort of character that Kalinda was meant that she was relieved not to be carrying the guilt inside her anymore and she would have admitted it if asked directly. But I would have expected more of a "Blake says X, please tell me it's not true" type of conversation between Alicia and Kalinda, not just immediate belief when Alicia heard about it.

Peter had history

I'm on series 7 now so this is a distant memory now but you're right Alisha did just believe and not question or at least wait to hear what Kalinda had to say.

Maybe Peter and his history just meant there is never smoke without fire with him now.

Shame I liked them sitting drinking tequila Smile

Love the good wife!
Once kids are asleep my husband and I binge watch at least 3 episodes a night.
Rock & roll here Wink

I think it was because the investigator used the same name for the woman he said Peter had had an affair with from his office, that Blake had been calling Kalinda by since he'd arrived, although the two men had no links. That was my understanding of why Alicia behaved as she did, not sure about other characters knowing.

Peter had an affair with Geneva Pine but Blake called Kalinda "Leela" I think?

It was the nickname.

I loved the good wife but very disappointed with its ending. They've done a good fight spin off with diane etc but it's not as good. X
