Went to bed at number 10, but hadn't seen Billy Connelly, Peter Kay or Ricky Gervais so it must have been one of those....anyone?

The big Yin!

zephyrcat · 19/03/2007 21:13

I missed the end of this too but couldn't believe the amount of legends that were way down the list and crappy no-bodys nearer the top!!

Marina · 19/03/2007 21:14

Really
I suppose he probably was quite good before Pamela Stephenson psychoanalysed all the fun out of him

zephyrcat · 19/03/2007 21:14

He was?! Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!

allieBongo · 19/03/2007 21:15

i adore the yin

choosyfloosy · 19/03/2007 21:16

wasn't the order more to do with when the watershed was rather than actual ability?

Though was sometimes a bit surprised at who I rolled around laughing at and who left me stony-faced

emo phillips for example - i used to fall off sofas laughing at him - last night was stony

ImaWurzel · 19/03/2007 21:17

Who's he?

zephyrcat · 19/03/2007 21:18

I said to dp that it was more to do with the watershed.

Did Bill HIcks appear anywhere?

IamBlossom · 19/03/2007 21:18

UnquietDad · 19/03/2007 22:16

Six women, in a list of 100. Surprised nobody has commented on that!

willywonka · 19/03/2007 22:17

Too dreamy eyed from seeing Eddie Izzard to realise...

noddyholder · 19/03/2007 22:18

Jim Davison was truly shocking in some of his racist and anti women comments.Who likes him?

I saw Ben Elton a few months ago at a little warm up gig. I got to talk to him afterwards and he seemed a really lovely, genuine bloke. And still very funny and a bit anarchic.

hunkermunker · 19/03/2007 22:21

Chubby Brown, Bernard Manning and Jim Davidson were ALL vile.

Pruni! You don't get Harry Hill?! I love him

Bill Hicks is a legend - SUCH a waste he died at 32.

[yawn] at Billy Connolly being number one - and I DO NOT understand why on earth Peter Kay is thought to be funny. Predictable, yes. Comedy genius, no.

pointydog · 19/03/2007 22:23

well there just aren't a lot of female comedians are there? Like Jenny Eclair and don't think she's there.

Rhona Cameron - nnnnnngggggg

Prefer Julie Walters by faaar to Victoria wOOD WHo bores mucho

UnquietDad · 19/03/2007 22:23

forty - was he doing any of the old material? Mrs Fatch... ooh, students, eh, there I was in the union bar reading a book of poetry... we've all got choice, ain't we, so let's all choose fackin' Eton for our kids... (Quite prescient, that one!)
