Anyone watch it? Just watched the final episode and, I'm not dim, but I really have no idea WTF the story was or where it led????

There is another thread where folk are similarly scratching their heads

Roundincirclesagainandagain · 09/06/2017 09:33

I just need someone to tell me what it was all about haha???? Was Paula Jame's sister???

OP posts:
Clawdy · 09/06/2017 23:09

No, she was older than him. Sister was younger.

Mc180768 · 10/06/2017 05:26

Craziest finale to a thriller.

So many things did not add up.

Roundincirclesagainandagain · 10/06/2017 08:03

Why was James so fixated on the photo he stole?

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 10/06/2017 08:21

I think it was just because it reminded him of him and his sister.

Ledkr · 10/06/2017 08:47

I was going to watch the last one today but I may not bother now Grin

Roundincirclesagainandagain · 10/06/2017 09:49

Ledkr please watch it you may be able to see some sense in it?! Grin

Paula showed how there is a victim & a perpetrator in most people.

The character's professional occupation very prevalent in her ability to torture her abuser.

NoahPinnyon · 10/06/2017 09:59

When I realised she had buried James alive, my blood ran cold - I'm claustrophobic so that's my worst nightmare!

Roundincirclesagainandagain · 10/06/2017 10:36

I initially thought she'd killed him and buried him under the basement floor.

OP posts:
Ledkr · 10/06/2017 11:46

What nonsense 😂

Roundincirclesagainandagain · 10/06/2017 12:42

Ledkr I'm guessing you watched it? Grin

Just finished it. DH watched the last half hour with me and I couldn't explain to him what was going on! Just didnt get it, glad I'm not the only one.

Mc180768 · 10/06/2017 12:57

I think the under story was brilliant. Paula killed her brother (amazingly the alarm did not activate a response from the staff) I assume, because he was so badly burned.

Poking around in the writer's musings, while we were led to believe she had done him in and buried him, the decomposition of his body would have made little sense.

Her occupation as a chemistry teacher enabled her to assemble the torture chamber. Despite many things not adding up, it was not hard to analyse the ending.

Violetcharlotte · 10/06/2017 13:04

I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't understand it!

I enjoyed the first two episodes but watching the third one, I felt like I'd missed a week! Who was the boy who got beat up? Where did he go? Why was there a dog in a bag? Why did the dog die??

I had to turn off at the point she locked him in the cupboard with the feeding tube... too freaky for me!!

Roundincirclesagainandagain · 10/06/2017 13:18

Why did James have two women, one of which he locked in a cupboard? Gathered one was his wife/partner but didn't get why the other one was locked up?

I watched this last night, back to back. What a load of complete tosh.
So, because she knew a bit about chemistry, she knew about the drug to sedate him, because of the dog. But how did she get the dog, ah, it was conveniently left by a random attack victim she attended. Sooo, the dog, who appears healthy, goes to a vet, why? what for?

So, she knows the chemical components to recreate the anasthetic, ok.....so how the hell did the build the thing she kept him in???

And why? God, it was awful

NoahPinnyon · 12/06/2017 20:10

Round - I'm guessing James had a fling with Morgan and she got pregnant. He had a sense of responsibility (because of dead sister) so he wouldn't abandon her so he moved her into the flat with family no. 1. Girlfriend no. 1 accepted this because she's a loon.

Cary - maybe she was having the dog neutered?

And wasn't there a scene where she was in a DIY store buying a coffin metal cupboard?

SapphireStrange · 13/06/2017 16:17

I'm not in any way defending this – it was a mess –but wanted to answer a few things:

because she knew a bit about chemistry, she knew about the drug to sedate him, because of the dog No, she was just able to steal the sedative drug from the vet (although it does seem unlikely that someone would be left alone in a room full of drugs for long enough to swipe them!).

Sooo, the dog, who appears healthy, goes to a vet, why? what for? I agree with the PP; he was probably being neutered.

So, she knows the chemical components to recreate the anasthetic No, as before, she nicked the drug from the vet's.

how the hell did the build the thing she kept him in??? Again, as a PP says, there was a scene where she went to a huge furniture/building store and bought it.

The boy getting beaten up and his dog being left in a bag in her house in the first place Hmm was a creaky-as-fuck plot device to get her a dog so she had to take it to the vet's so she could steal the drugs.

It was a shambles. Grin Tom Hughes is pretty, though, isn't he?
