Grantchester jumped the shark last night....Sidney roaming round in a donkey jacket, the most unlikely travellers' camp ever, a murder with a ridiculous motive, the two Mrs. Maguires.....I've loved it, but I think they're running out of stories.

I have to agree.

I've no idea why Mrs Maguire's ex had fetched up in a gypsy camp. I too found the murder motive really weak. And I didn't follow/wasn't convinced by the story or motives of Llewella.

Do you think this storyline came from the books or was an original 'inspired by' screenplay?

I much prefer it when they focus on things like Leonard fussing about mackintoshes.

Pretty sure it wasn't from the books, as Sidney in the books is happily married, but not to Amanda! She is just a good mate in the books, and they exchange lots of jokey banter! And Georgie definitely doesn't have an affair!

Oh, I didn't know that. Are the books worth reading?

I am finding this serious boring. Would quite like it if they based it more on the books. Would like to see a tv show where a man and a woman can be friends without any drama.

The books are short stories, quite pleasant reading, but not gripping.

Grantchester needs more Leonard in it and less Geordie shagging.
