Another classic line "Pushing a woman out of a car doesn't necessarily make him a bad man"

(and you can buy the car on EBay !!)Look!

OP posts:

good episode tonight
LOL at the party food!

Overrun · 13/03/2007 22:14

I loved this, very funny indeed. No new episode on BBC4 though

lilibet · 14/03/2007 09:09

How many are left?

Did anyone else notice that the woman playing Denise was also in last weeks?

Molesworth · 14/03/2007 09:10

Didn't she used to be in Corrie?

southeastastra · 14/03/2007 09:11

it was fab, need more spooky bits though.

Freckle · 14/03/2007 09:13

Loved the Tony Blair and his wife Cherie and Gordon Brown and his errrr Suki!

I thought Gene had some fab lines this week.

Fillyjonk · 14/03/2007 09:13

right can someone explain this to me, I saw 10 minutes last night

is he in a coma or did he go back in time? or is that they mystery?

AND

why does it feel so eerily like torchwood?

serenity · 14/03/2007 09:28

All the signs point at him being in a coma, but you don't know anything. Maybe he's gone back in time, is going mad from the shock and the coma voices are his mind's way of coping with the trauma? Maybe the modern bits are the bits he's imagining.......?

I think there's still a couple more episodes, I'm sure I read the last one is in April, so that gives us at least 3 more.

foxinsocks · 14/03/2007 10:16

oh freckle, I lol at the Tony Blair/Cherie/Gordon Brown thing!!

was reading the Radio Times and the house they filmed it in is a real house (with a lot of the features you saw on the TV) in Manchester!

kookaburra · 14/03/2007 10:29

The lines get better & better, especially Gene's. I liked the one about 'Didn't Nixon NOTICE the van parked in front of the White House' - dreading the end of the series - heard that is it after this series.

Fimbo · 14/03/2007 10:38

It was so funny last night - brilliant brilliant brilliant. Loved Gene throwing the sherbert down his throat too!

Didn't someone (Cod??) that there is to be a spin off series set in the 80's?

Fimbo · 14/03/2007 10:40

Ashes to Ashes

hippipotami · 14/03/2007 12:52

I absolutely love Life On Mars, and loved loved loved last nights episode.

Am gutted it is about to end soon, it is such a fab programme.

I agree, we could do with a few more spooky bits which hint at Sam bein in a coma (or indeed imagining the modern bits??)

Don't ever want it to end...

JackieNo · 14/03/2007 12:54

Yes - agree that it's very enjoyable (loved the sherbert bit too), but they're not really moving the whole is he in a coma/dead/whatever story on at all at the moment. Oh well, as long as it isn't a Dallas style 'it was all a dream' type ending, I don't really care.

TinyGang · 14/03/2007 12:58

I was fantastic last night. Loved Gene turning up at the wife swapping party.

And in the pub, Sam says 'Ray shouldn't be here, he's got PTSD'

GENE 'The man was nearly blown up and now you accuse him of having the clap!' EXCELLENT.

Hillbilly · 14/03/2007 12:59

Love it too! Definitely a bit slow on the coma plot last night though.

motherinferior · 14/03/2007 13:08

Oh god, I so loved it last night.

mrsflowerpot · 14/03/2007 13:09

there's nothing more seventies than a good old fashioned swingers' party, is there?

it was fab last night.

Gingerbear · 14/03/2007 13:14

There are 8 episodes in total in this 2nd and final series.

Last night's was an excellent episode.

serenity · 14/03/2007 13:54

That article about the 80's spin off was last October, and I'm sure it was only recently that I heard the whole idea had been nixed, unfortunately. It might have been in this months SFX, I'll have to have a look.

serenity · 14/03/2007 13:59

Oh, it's SFX that are putting the last episode as being on 10 April > can't find it, maybe it was in MILs radio times, definitely remember reading that the writers/producers had decided against it.

SecondhandRose · 14/03/2007 14:00

We love it too but sadly last nights wasn't suitable for 11yr old DS and he was sooooo cross.

We love it too and we think when he comes round from the coma his police mates will be hospital staff and Gene will probably be his Doc. Don't want it to end though.

southeastastra · 14/03/2007 14:02

earlier in the year there was a programme on bbcfour with the creators, sounded like ashes to ashes would go ahead. they'd be mad not to really.

Freckle · 14/03/2007 14:05

Also hooted at the line that "surveillance doesn't sound very macho". And all that talk about upstairs/outside, downstairs/inside had me totally confused at first. Definitely don't remember that from the 70s (and yes, I am old enough ), but maybe that's proof that I'm not a hairy-arsed trucker.....

SueBaroo · 14/03/2007 16:13

Mint custard?

It's a triumph.

classic.
