Love this. Love his lilting accent, the gorgeous scenery, the pleasing pencil sketches, the music...mmm... it's lulling me into a sunday night tv comfort blanket usually the preserve of Call the Midwife or Countryfile.

I was just coming on to alert people to this series- so beautifully shot, such a feeding of peace and harmony when watching it, a real love letter to his home. It's every bit as beautiful as Planet Earth but hasn't been widely publicised (and is buried on bbc4).

Definitely one to rewatch on iplayer.

I thought it was Feargal Keane for the first few episodes.

Ha ha yes it looks a bit like him.

Hasn't the guy done wildlife cameramanning for years? Guess he's probably worked on Planet Earth etc. This is just as compelling, should be on bbc2 at least.

Love the music too.

Not massively keen on bats though, soz mate Confused

I saw the episode with the islands of, ach can't remember their names but one had these little round houses where monks lived. Now odd little clumsy birds nest there.

How did I not know of such an amazing place?

I liked the lizards that give birth to live young then leave them to fend for themselves on day 1. Nature is cruel and beautiful.

It's a beautiful series. I know where my next holiday is going to be!
