of course I hadn't a clue what was going on, but it looked great

can anyone tell me where I can watch this from the beginning and what series it was?

The only bits I've seen were on random episodes of Gogglebox, and DH and I were weeping with laughter, because it looked so mad - there was someone about to dismember an apparently dead Thandie Newton with a chainsaw, then HE was dead and she was alive and switching blood samples, and then someone in a balaclava was throwing someone else over a bannister, and next thing Thandie Newton has had her hand amputated, and isn't impressed. I watched series one to three on Netflix.

I binged watched to catch up.

fruityb · 01/05/2017 09:25

It'll be on iplayer and the other series are on Netflix.

I've only watched this one and it was bloody brilliantly

fruityb · 01/05/2017 09:25

Brilliant

Notyetthere · 01/05/2017 09:26

Definitely worth watching. I believe you can watch past series on Netflix. You might be able to catch this series on iplayer.

You will not get the general gist of the story from 2 random 3mins clips on gogglebox.

dailystuck71 · 01/05/2017 09:57

I hadn't watched it at all but binged on Saturday morning when I woke really early. It's very good.

TheHiphopopotamus · 01/05/2017 10:02

Series 1 & 2 are currently on Netflix.

Not all the episodes of S4 are on iplayer as they're only available for a certain length of time.

If you have Kodi or similar, I would imagine they're all on there. And I would start watching them all from the very beginning as they are bloody brilliant and I can't recommend it enough.

limitedperiodonly · 01/05/2017 10:23

It's entertaining but it's lazy shit and really quite insulting now.

ceeveebee · 01/05/2017 13:00

You needn't bother watching the rest now Chavelita has given the entire plot away!

Chavelita · 01/05/2017 13:46

I'm not going to apologise for giving spoilers, because literally every newspaper/TV guide/forum I've seen in days/weeks has given far more detailed ones/who's who of characters/run-downs of plot inconsistencies etc, not to mention the aforementioned Gogglebox extracts. For someone who has never watched LoD, and isn't very tv aware, it's been impossible to avoid.

fruityb · 01/05/2017 15:02

Actually it's quite easy to avoid spoilers for these things - I haven't seen any for LOD and I've watched it all after the event on catch up aside from the finale. And I watch a lot of tv.

PuppyMonkey · 01/05/2017 15:08

I'm in the minority I know but I didn't like the latest series half as much as the others. Series 1-3 are excellent. Lyndsey Denton, Dot Cottan, Nigel et al, all much more interesting characters than Thandie Newton imho.

buggerthebotox · 01/05/2017 16:20

I preferred the other series, too, puppy. This one was not so nuanced, somehow. The characters were much more one-dimensional in this one. Perhaps as a,consequence of moving to Bbc1?.

SapphireStrange · 01/05/2017 16:28

Binge-watch it all!

It's excellent.

picklemepopcorn · 01/05/2017 16:44

It's excellent, you have no idea!

Watch from start of S1 if you can, and then you'll forgotten all chavelita said by the time you catch up. It's real holding your breath stuff! I wish I'd watched it in a box set, so I didn't for get things!

ssd · 01/05/2017 22:40

thanks, I'll try to get it from the beginning then

Check Sainsbury's/Asda for DVD series 1&2

ssd · 02/05/2017 09:34

will do, thanks

Tiredemma · 02/05/2017 09:40

ssd - I caught it by chance a couple of years ago (season 2) and was amazed by it. Managed to get Season 1 on Netflix and had a LOD binge.

I thought this season was 'good' but seriously Season 2 and 3 were the best.

You do need to start from season 1 though to get a firm gist of what is going on. Lyndsey Denton was the character I think.

ssd · 02/05/2017 10:02

yes, it sounds like I should start from the very beginning, thanks.

I feel your pain OP, I only realised what a cracking series it was half way through the last series, so had to binge watch from the very beginning. Meant I missed out on all the epi by epi online and friend discussions which add so much to the series because other people spot little clues, or red herrings and picking them apart and trying to second guess the writer is such fun.

ssd · 02/05/2017 10:25

oh god, I'm hopeless at that sort of thing, hope it isnt all lost on me

OP posts:
limitedperiodonly · 02/05/2017 15:39

Chavelita hasn't spoiled it OP. I enjoy watching even though there are many absolutely ridiculous moments in it - like some of the things she pointed out.

I will be watching the next series. Sometimes I'll go: 'WTF just happened?'

ssd · 03/05/2017 09:01

TBH I skimmed chavelita's post incase it gave too much away! Grin
