Help was this a real show?

OH can remember a children's show that had a really scary character that was essentially just a pair of curtains floating on a cloud with a menacing dark crack in the middle. He drew me a picture and everything. I think he probably just had a bad dream, I could be wrong though. Anyone remember this very odd sounding show?

does he remember Magpie, or Blue Peter...helps to narrow it down to BBC or ITV

ime you never swapped between the two channels.

EnglishRose1320 · 29/04/2017 11:39

I was always BBC, he watched t.v at different child minders so it varied!

It weirdly rings a bell with me.

What era are we talking?

bruffin · 29/04/2017 11:50

Could it be a part of Mariannas dreams.
It was about a girĺ who was ill in bed and draws a house which comes alive in her dreams and there is a boy in it

We need to know DH age so we can know when it would have been

EnglishRose1320 · 29/04/2017 12:33

OH is early thirties, he reckons this show was from his pre school/early primary age so um late 80's early 90's

There were some weird ass cartoon from the 80s/90s. It does have a ring of familiarity about it, but the problem is programmes weren't on loop like they are these days so I often just remember fragments and can't decide if it's a cheese dream or not.

Could be something from any of these:
Chorlton & The Wheelies
Jamie & The Magic Torch
The Moomins
Wizbit
Ulysses 51
Monkey
Pipkins
Mr Rossi

EnglishRose1320 · 29/04/2017 18:16

He says it definitely wasn't the moomins, doesnt think it was monkey, hasn't heard of the others so will check them out.

A few others:

Chocky
Willo the Wisp
RentaGhost
The New Schmoo
Terrahawks

Probably none of them, but thanks for the trip down memory lane Grin

there's some listed here...maybe US though

mention of dingy curtains/cellar window for Peppermint Park.

TondelayaDellaVentamiglia · 29/04/2017 20:18

oh...link would be helpful!

Link here

HeyRoly · 29/04/2017 20:19

Chocky scared the living shit out of me when I was a child.

EnglishRose1320 · 29/04/2017 20:32

OH says it was definitely a cartoon and he has a vague notion it was a similar style to raggy dolls so I'm think more likely 90's than 80's

Could it be button moon?

AlasEarwax · 30/04/2017 20:23

Bumping this thread as I'm intrigued! I'm 31 and have fond memories of 90s kids shows! The only thing I can think of is zzzap. A comic book page with curtains in some of the squares! Good luck!

EnglishRose1320 · 01/05/2017 00:01

Ooh I had totally forgotten about zzzap will have to look at that again.

Don't think it was Button moon
