OK - I give up. Where have they hidden the polat bear, the mysterious hatch and the deadly smoke-monster?

Whizzz · 09/03/2007 22:36

LOL

Would love to say who but he has a child and partner and for that reason I won't name him!Otherwise I would as he has owed me masses of money and also fraudulently opened an account in our joint names as he had kep some of my id when we split!

crunchie · 09/03/2007 22:42

Hateful, no Ben fogle and the lovely dog

Anyone remeber her name??

UnquietDad · 09/03/2007 22:44

Inca

PestoMonster · 10/03/2007 07:54

I'm disappointed

Blandmum · 10/03/2007 07:56

How did that bloke damage the water tank, I missed that bit

sassy · 10/03/2007 08:06

Agree with the other comments. Not up to the standard of the previous Castaway which was an interesting social experiment with people living together for a year, all ages involved (inc kids and the lovely Inca of course), and just trying to create a community. This is BB abroad. Thought it was crap.
(Sorry MB, didn't see the water tank bit, just the aftermath -"I'm not gonna feel bad about it or anything, just one of those things.."

UnquietDad · 10/03/2007 11:23

I was watching it all and I still don't get what he did to the water tank.

nannyDB · 10/03/2007 11:35

It's on Great Barrier Island off the coast of Auckland. I visited a few years ago. There are daily flights and ferries to Auckland, lots of people have cars and there is "public transport" in the way of a minibus service around the island.
Yes it is remote and isolated but it is an inhabited island where lots of people live, unlike Taransay.

UnquietDad · 10/03/2007 11:37

And there's a little community of scientific researchers living in a village in a hollow in the next valley, who pass their time with book clubs and bun-baking but are going to start picking them off one by one...

flatmouse · 10/03/2007 11:38

I think he said something about cutting a bit off the top to let rainwater in, then one of the slats lifted up, so he hammered it back down - then sieve-time!

My2kidsmum · 10/03/2007 15:21

I too was very disappointed. I'm not a huge fan of reality tv, but did really enjoy the last series of Castaway. This just looks like "Big Brother goes on holiday" - what a wasted opportunity!!!

Earlybird · 11/03/2007 10:02

Telly writers in papers this morning calling it 'Big Brother' on a not-so-isolated island.

UnquietDad · 12/03/2007 14:12

"Deey seven. Jee-son has bin voor-ted as the perr-son who contrib-yerted least ter the lyeef of the islanders sore farrr. Because of this, he has ter spend tha next weeeek in isoleeer-shun on a beeeeach... Buck in the house, Jon-a-than an' Cleeeeer are havin' an ar-gyer-ment."

Its shit. The original one was fab

Its just like that bloody 'celebrity love island'

utter tripe.

Tamum · 12/03/2007 19:29

Agree with the rest of you- just another tired old BB/ Love Island clone. I loved the original one too- when will they learn that they don't need to manufacture conflict like this? If anyone sent me off to a beach on my own for a week to think about why I'd been chosen I'd be on the first plane out of there.

Blandmum · 12/03/2007 19:32

The taransay thing was actually interesting.

This is a load of cobblers and the only interest it gave me was playing 'spot the argument in the making'

So we had Thacherite vs anarchist

'i work for myself' vs 'I have been on benefits'

'ex army' vs 'let it all hang out'
'old' vs 'young'

Yawn
