told it's quite a funny story . I'd started at university all of 5 weeks, was about the end of November and my very Welsh friend ( spot a theme) suggested we go to the nearest big town to meet up with her mother, it was the week before her 19th birthay. This 50 miles away in Swansea,- there was one bus a day there, and one home. My friend was a tough valley girl from near Merthyr. This is also relevant.

We had a lovely day. We saw her mum, but missed the bus got in another that took us half way, and stopped at a scary pub. Tough friend got me to ask all the big scary Welsh farmers in the public if they knew of any taxi firms that would take us back . A bidding ensued, and we got in a car with bloke who said he'd take us for nothing ( i know!! ) . We didn't say a word for the next 30 minutes.

I remember gripping the door handle and it fell off. And when we arrived back at uni, we could barely speak to say thank you, and ran back to halls as fast as we could.

I had lead a very sheltered life, despite coming from Manchester and it being 1990. It was the most exciting thing to have happened to me to date

BlimeyRaahh you were lucky there. When we're young we don't always appreciate what risks we take. You'd be mortified if one of your own DC did this. I shudder at some of the risky behaviours I had. Nothing to match your Welsh adventure.

I've stayed in Merthyr over night, once and never to be repeated!

Swansea is really up and coming though. I haven't been since December, hoping to get a visit in soon.

It's funny now that my friend has DC who are uni age ( I'm in denial about that()when i remind her about some of the stuff we got up to!

I'm still 19 in my head forever, though.

The thing i like about Zaniel is that the writers haven't made them get married. That always messes things up in soaps. They have had big problems and have worked them out. It's quite unusual.
