Jump aboard for a fab road trip with Emma & Zara. I'd much rather go on one with Al.

Raahh · 27/04/2017 14:13

Oh- jogging was the beginning of the end of Jimmi's marriage to Princess Bubblegum. That, and the merlot.

RTKM007 · 27/04/2017 14:13

Just seen the thingy from tomorrow

Heston Deffo puts his foot in it GrinGrinGrin

RTKM007 · 27/04/2017 14:18

Red shoe now my DH is retired he has seen some episodes, he usually leaves me to watch in peace but he knows their character name but explaining our names for them would be too confusing for him GrinGrinGrin

toldmywrath · 27/04/2017 16:08

,RTKM does your dh drive you mad, being retired? I'm dreading the day that mine retires Grin

My DD popped in and asked is JJ the one with a beard. I said no it's not. And then the trailer came on-- has he always had a beard?! I feel like I'm going round the bendShock

I'm not sure I'd be happy with our doctor's receptionists asking loads of intrusive questions. Is this a real initiative with the vulnerable people thing?

OP posts:
toldmywrath · 27/04/2017 16:14

Can you see a 🐻 bear?

OP posts:
RTKM007 · 27/04/2017 16:45

Told no I love having him around

We also love the fact that days are all like weekends

He had to retire early due to prostate cancer but was going to retire the next year

He spends time in the garden or walking the dog or grocery shopping or just chilling or reading or watching TV

The best thing is that we can go away in our MH during term time (he was a school teacher) whenever we like

SmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmile

RTKM007 · 27/04/2017 16:47

I thought JJ had a sort of non shaved beard, sort of like 2 weeks without shaving sort of beard

cinnamongreyhound · 27/04/2017 16:59

That was sweet of 6tl but I don't think it will end well! Or perhaps it'll be like the campus and police station, a new add on set?

That was a sad patient story today, both of them so unhappy with their lot.

Sounds lovely RTKM007

My dh loves to watch when he's home from
Work or if I watch on catch up in the evening Smile

TheFirstMrsDV · 27/04/2017 17:08

Can I just barge in and say something please?

I thought today's epi with the new doctor was a pile of poo even by Doctor's standards.
I liked the bit about whatsherface being nice to Sid.
But the new doctor discovering a youngster selling her mum's anti anxiety meds (what on earth for? They won't do anything) and she doesn't raise a safeguarding concerns, she cuddles this girl she doesn't know, she removes 'drugs'' from a patient's private belongings without her knowledge, she goes round to her house, she discloses confidential information and questions randoms......

I LOVE Doctors for all its bonkerness but today was just daft.

As you were...

cinnamongreyhound · 27/04/2017 17:32

I'm not a fan of the new doctor so far.

I also wonder where rhuma is finding this extra time to walk everywhere instead of driving? Surely no one would pay for the time it took her to walk from st Phil's?!? And then she has time to walk to the supermarket.

RTKM007 · 27/04/2017 17:55

I thought she did know the family from before

Cos she kept saying how wrong it was for her to have moved buildings and that she didn't like having to visit her at different building

I took that to mean she knew them from different surgery or hospital and they had followed her as her psych

I agree with asking the driver without showing her ID to show she was an official person not a random

And that she should have put the info thru official channels but perhaps that is her thing that she doesn't do paperwork and takes easy and quick option so the reason why she got job thru back door cos in old job was being sacked

toldmywrath · 27/04/2017 19:35

RTKM, sounds like you're both enjoying his retirement. Are you retired as well?Smile

OP posts:
toldmywrath · 27/04/2017 19:39

Thefirstmrsdv, you're over thinking it,Wink This is Doctors don't you knowGrin

But I agree with everything you've said. I wondered who buys anti depressants on the black market. I mean, what's the point? Or are they different to anti anxiety meds?

RTKM007 · 27/04/2017 19:45

Told in a way yes and no, I used to be a childminder many years ago, then I became a Guide Dog Puppy Walker, so that is our job now but it is as volunteers so sort of a job in that it is 24/7 but we don't get paid £ for doing it

What job does your DH do? How long is it until he retires?

TheFirstMrsDV · 27/04/2017 19:48

I know, I know, I let Doctors get away with a hell of a lot more than the other soaps (I was one of the MNers who stormed Eastenders a few years back) but every so often I have to draw the line :D

redshoeblueshoe · 27/04/2017 21:08

Kanga (are we still allowed to call you that ?) I think you are spot on that megan got sacked.
Confidentiality is something that seems to pass them all by. I know Val got disciplined, but Gobby informing her DH when Mrs T would get home FFS. And we (and even Zara) call Gobby gobby for a reason Grin
The poor driver from the pharmacy I bet he needs this tonight Grin

redshoeblueshoe · 27/04/2017 21:10

Blush I meant he needs Wine clearly I've had one too many

toldmywrath · 27/04/2017 21:26

RTKM, my husband is self employed and has been nearly all his working life. So, no plans to ever fully retire as he won't be able to afford to. He does a physically demanding job, so he'll gradually reduce his hours but he's not of long lived stock (iyswim)

OP posts:
RTKM007 · 27/04/2017 21:28

Red shoe yes of course I am just being a bit incognito for a bit SmileSmileSmile

Megan Deffo has dodgy past otherwise how does surgery employ someone without even giving passing mention to references or referees or past jobs (I might have missed the sentence about it though)

She didn't seem to need to give notice and was ready the next week to start at Mill

I think Zara and Daniel are going to go ShockShockShockShockShockAngryAngryAngryAngryAngry when they return that the surgery are going to be paying extra member of staff without even asking them if they agree cos surely partners get profits don't they?

Although with the policy of only having xxxx members of permed ant staff at any one time they will need to get rid of someone if Megan stays

So who do we want? ..... 6tl or Rhuma or Val????? .......my vote goes with 6tl although that would make Sid homeless don't mind bout Eeeesh being homeless although they could both move into a flat together

So if they are going to keep Megan as a love thingy for Jimmi and maybe Al they will need to get rid of someone ............ GrinGrinGrin

RTKM007 · 27/04/2017 21:32

Told yes I get what you mean, sounds like my BIL (although I know you aren't my sister cos she doesn't watch Doctors) winding down gradually sounds a good plan though

redshoeblueshoe · 27/04/2017 22:02

Rhuma can kill 6tl. Rhuma goes to prison. Chris comes back from Oz and lives in mums house, or Chris pops over for the funeral, and asks Eeeesh to manage the house.
Val falls hopelessly in love with Chris and follows him back to Oz.
Sorted.

My DH has just hit retirement age but he's staying on part-time.
We are both very aware that we are lucky, that this is his choice, and he is healthy. Sadly the 2 generations that follow us are not so healthy Sad
