Does it get better?

After seeing it recommend on here, I've watched series 1 and half of series 2 and find it really disappointing: contrived, predictable, a bit stiff.
Is it worth sticking with?

At the time it was amazing. I wonder now, if you're coming to it for the first time, there may have been better things since which have surpassed it. A bit like watching 24 after watching The Wire.

Ha! I did the same. It seems very twee and old fashioned. I couldn't watch it!!
