I've just looked at the BBC4 listings page and it's an episode that has already been broadcast. What's going on??

Why BBC4? The 3rd episode of the new series is on BBC1

foxinsocks · 06/03/2007 19:42

I saw that - very annoying but have no idea why. Don't think there's any football on next week (to stop them showing next week's episode) - tis the only reason I can think that they wouldn't want to show the next one on BBC4.

Bubble99 · 06/03/2007 19:44

The episode being shown on BBC1 tonight is, according to my trust ES, the IRA one. Which I saw a couple of weeks ago.

I'm also confused.

me too what's going on again argh

Gingerbear · 06/03/2007 19:46

Tis annoying bubble, you'll just have to watch the IRA-bashing bomb episode (that has been on BBC4 already) on BBC1 tonight.
football last week cocked up the scheduling on BBC 1. Dunno what has happened on BBC4.

I demand a refund on my license fee.

foxinsocks · 06/03/2007 19:46

unless, because they started from the beginning (ep1) last week, they are just continuing along that line (so will be one week behind on BBC4 iyswim)

DrMarthaMcMoo · 06/03/2007 19:47

Oh that's weird. I haven't seen episode 2 yet (we recorded it) - the one which was on two weeks ago. We were going to watch it tonight then watch tonight's afterwards - but I guess we won't if it's the same one. Did that make sense...I'm confusing myself now.

DrMarthaMcMoo · 06/03/2007 19:48

Is the BBC4 one a repeat of the BBC1 one or is the BBC4 one supposed to be ahead of the BBC1 one?

Gingerbear · 06/03/2007 19:48

but FIS, BBC4 were doing that 1st view thing that E4 does - shows next weeks episode straight after this weeks on BBC1.
S'not fair

DrMarthaMcMoo · 06/03/2007 19:49

OK, I get it now (I think).

foxinsocks · 06/03/2007 19:50

yes I know that but last week, they went back to ep1 on BBC4 because of the footie on BBC1 (so none at all on BBC1) and I wonder whether they are just continuing with the episodes in order on BBC4 now (so one behind, rather than one in front) rather than going back to being one in front.

I watched the IRA one 2 weeks ago on BBC4 I think.

Gingerbear · 06/03/2007 19:50

BBC4 started out 1 week ahead of BBC1, but has now gone back to the beginning again. So BBC4 will be behind BBC1. (I am confusing myself now)

mrsflowerpot · 06/03/2007 19:50

oh this is so confusing, we had been watching ahead on bbc4 too and we have seen tonight's episode so there isn't one for us to watch, aaargh. (dh is near total brain failure trying to work it out, poor love.)

foxinsocks · 06/03/2007 19:51

episode 3 in on BBC1 tonight

you'd expect ep4 to be on BBC4 but they seem to be showing ep2 again

DrMarthaMcMoo · 06/03/2007 19:51

Now this wouldn't happen if you just watched it on BBC1 and waited nicely for the next episode...

foxinsocks · 06/03/2007 19:52

lol

this is all because last week there was football on BBC1 so no life on mars and instead, they showed ep1 on BBC4 (and we had all watched ep3 on BBC4 the week before that when ep2 was on BBC1 iyswim!)

mrsflowerpot · 06/03/2007 19:53

but we ca-a-a-a-n't as it bloody clashes with battlestar galactica (the shame, but am hooked) and our terrestrial signal is shite so we can't record off it

southeastastra · 06/03/2007 19:56

on the tv listing (where it's listed on the tv) it says it's an episode about swinging

Bubble99 · 06/03/2007 20:05

Really, Southeast? Is that tonight's listing? Which side is the 'swinging' episode on?

OP posts:
bandstand · 06/03/2007 20:07

be like me, dont have bb4

SaintGeorge · 06/03/2007 20:28

Originally the BBC4 episodes were in advance of BBC1.

Then last week they cancelled on BBC1 because of the football and started a full repeat run on BBC3 instead, which they have transferred back to BBC4 just to confuse.

So BBC4 tonight is episode 2.

BBC1 is episode 3.

So watch BBC1 for preference and rely on BBC4 in future for repeats if you miss an episode.

Phew.
