Starts tomorrow night (Tuesday 21st) on BBC2 at 10:00. Looking forward to this!

I have to say that those who complete cryptic crosswords always present themselves as clever and can be quite unpleasant about it. I could understand the sentiment immediately.

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/03/2017 16:39

E2 was a bit complicated. Had to watch again with mn and fb 😂

Again very clever - do like the twists but do have to watch

I love this show, haven't seen last night's yet
Thing is, I'm squeamish and there's usually a warning about "may contain upsetting scenes"
I don't mind implied things but not good with actual blood and gore so wish they'd state it specifically. I presume I missed the worst of it closing my eyes for last week's obvious bit but maybe they didn't show it, I don't even know!
I think it's really clever and one of the best things on TV. The counselling and witch hunt ones of last series were amazing. Their comic timing is something else!

Elendon · 01/03/2017 20:07

The crossword is available to do on the Guardian website.

I thought last night's episode was absolutely dire - really threadbare idea with a dose of repulsion to try to make it different.

Alice212 · 01/03/2017 22:23

Cherry, is that blood and gore or implied ick? Thanks!

IvyLeagueUnderTheSea · 01/03/2017 22:45

That bit did seem to be in there for the sake of it.

Alice its blood and a bit of gore. Hard to describe really without saying what it was.

IsThatYouPaul · 01/03/2017 22:45

I thought last night's episode was inspired, lovely route through the twists, brilliantly executed. Very satisfying.

And I'm far too impatient for cryptic crosswords.

'I thought last night's episode was inspired, lovely route through the twists, brilliantly executed'

I agree. They are so brilliant. I cannot imagine being able to construct a cryptic crossword, never mind one that has to reflect parts of the story and where the diagonal letters spell out an important plot point. Wow.

cherryrednose · 02/03/2017 18:56

It's a shame really, the first series was so well written and such a surprise but series 2 wasn't nearly as good and after Tuesday's episode I'm not expecting much of series 3.

I suppose they had a long time to work on the first series, probably years of development and honing but the subsequent series have had a lot less time spent on them and even with some excellent actors it really shows.

Juveniledelinquent · 02/03/2017 19:21

Well I thought this episode was brilliant! The writing and acting is inspired.
