All Creatures Great and Small

We're living overseas with no TV broadcasting, so are always on the lookout for good boxsets. DD1 (10) is an animal fanatic and I'm thinking about getting her the box set of All Creatures Great and Small. I remember loving it at around her age - or was I a bit older?

The thing is, she's super tender-hearted and I remember it having quite a lot of poignant moments - but then I haven't seen it for 30 years. Has anyone watched it more recently and can you advise me - is it suitable for a 10 year old animal lover? Are there lots of sad moments or is it more gentle humour and drama?

It should be fine. I watched it at about her age. I'm ridiculously over sensitive when it comes to animals (I actually can't watch Disney films etc, I started sobbing before anything bad happened in the Lion King and had to turn it off) but I was fine with it and still am

And yes more gentle humour and drama than sad bits
