I was just reading a review of the latest dvd release of the BBC series on Amazon, and someone made a comment about the token woman and the token gay in the band of merry men.

Eh???? Yes, OK Djac was the token woman, but who was the token gay? Obviously not Robin, nor Will, who fancied Djac, nor Much who fell for his maidservant when he was made a Lord, nor LittleJohn who was married, nor Alan, who, it seemed to me, made lots of manly comments about women.

So did I miss something? Who was the token gay?

I didn't see the one where Much got his end away but he is definitely pining after Robin - definitely the token (in denial and totally closeted) gay.

If it hadn't been for the maidservant thing I'd have assumed it was Much. Not sure.

DumbledoresGirl · 12/02/2007 20:55

Nah, Much is just a devoted follower. I know he siad he loved robin but Robin said he loved him in one episode. It doesn't mean that sort of love.

He wants to get in Robin's Ye Olde Gap briefs - I'd put money on it

marthamoo · 12/02/2007 20:58

I'd like to talk to the maidservant about what actually went on in the bedchamber. Bet he kept his eyes closed, and was keen to try an alternative orifice...probably called her Robin at the end too.

DumbledoresGirl · 12/02/2007 21:02

LOL re Ye Olde Gap briefs!

She did suggest he stayed with her and he did tell her he couldn't as his place was with Robin, but I am sure he meant he had to stay with Robin to fight his "crusade". Also, he told the midservant that he would be back for her "when there is justice in this world".

Yeah yeah, I know what you are thinking: that will be never then, but don't be so cynical!

He's in denial. It's got to be him.

Or maybe the Sheriff is gay? Actually no, no gay man would be seen dead in those hideous sandals.

DumbledoresGirl · 12/02/2007 21:04

Well the sheriff certainly has the gay's man attitude towards women, but the reviewer was implying it was someone in Robin's band.

Much then - got to be.

DumbledoresGirl · 12/02/2007 21:09

Much is my favourite character.
