on BBC one on Tuesday nights.
It was on last year with Jason Manford amongst others and I really enjoyed all the little stories and found it quite gripping. Watched yesterday and felt it wasn't as good. Jill Halfpenny is always good value, but the man character was very annoying and it seemed to drag a bit, until the end when something finally happened! Did anyone else watch?

I thought tonight's episode was fantastic. Really good performances.

The80sweregreat · 25/10/2016 22:03

It was much better this week. Social media has a lot to answer for.

Cherrypie32 · 25/10/2016 22:12

Yep, much preferred tonight's episode to last week.

Clawdy · 25/10/2016 22:16

This week's was much better. Last week's was gripping at first, then veered off into over-the-top storylines. And I found Con O's voice hoarse and annoying, he was miscast. Not sure where that Ash storyline is going......

PopFizz · 25/10/2016 22:23

I'm halfway through and keep muting it! Not because it's not good, but because I think I know what's coming.....

And yes, social media is a terrible thing in this way!

NoahVale · 26/10/2016 06:54

I persuaded dd to watch this with me, it was good. and lesson about social media.
last weeks was too short a story and too OTT, this weeks wrapped up better.

Igottastartthinkingbee · 26/10/2016 06:59

Didn't anyone think it was completely ridiculous? My sister and I thought the cat getting squashed was the last straw!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 26/10/2016 09:05

Ummmmm, I have nearly squashed my cat doing thatShock the door slammed with the wind and he shot out at the same time. Very lucky it wasn't worse than catching his leg slightly!!

2rebecca · 26/10/2016 09:18

I enjoyed it more this week. Think the ending was a bit depressing although it was meant to be positive. She got another chance with the bloke who 2 timed then dumped her years ago but lost her job.

absolutelynotfabulous · 26/10/2016 09:22

I thought it was a bit daft, yes. The cat was a step too far. Poor puss!

Im not finding any of the characters believable or likeable, which is putting me off. Apart from the gorgeous Conn, of courseBlush.

And yes, I think that WAS Noel from Hearsay shows age.

The80sweregreat · 26/10/2016 09:46

I looked up Noel but didn't recognise which character he is playing? he is 36 now and from Cardiff, didn't know that, but then I don't remember them much ( although I did like Pure and simple song they did, when they first hit the big time)
One of the men is Layton from Trollied comedy with jane horrocks. shame I don't have Sky tv anymore as miss a lot of good programmes on there ( and Stella!)

Lilaclily · 26/10/2016 09:48

I can't believe she went for her ex at the end and not warehouse guy, was so disappointed, she didn't learn anything!
Also kept thinking of her as the annoying one in Fresh Meat !

GinAndOnIt · 26/10/2016 09:56

I'm really enjoying the series so far. I cannot for the life of me remember if I watched the first series though. I feel like I would have done, as I like Manford, but I can't remember a single thing about it. I don't want to buy it on Amazon and then realise I've seen it all!

Also can't think who Noel played. Off to google.

The80sweregreat · 26/10/2016 09:56

Neil seemed nice , I agree, much better than the other bloke.
Seems as though Jenna has a 'past ' too.
my son said Holly was in fresh meat with Jack Whitehall.
I didn't feel sorry for her, although its true that other people's lives do look more exciting sometimes - its easy to become jealous. She just took it too far! Didn't have so much exposure to others lives years ago. just a few old snaps from snappy snaps, that were a few months out of date. lol

OP posts:
GinAndOnIt · 26/10/2016 09:57

I was cringing for most of last nights episode though, waiting for it all to go wrong. Wearing Jenna's bra ffs?! It had a really good message about social media though.

The80sweregreat · 26/10/2016 09:59

Gin, it was on last year around this time, one story had Michelle keegan playing a drugs mule - Manford's character pretended his wife had died (!) and a blond woman who used to be in Corrie I think having FWB affair as her husband was impotent. Sounds grim, but it wasnt. The one who had the affair with the bosses daughter was a creep, but the other stories were not too bad.

GinAndOnIt · 26/10/2016 10:03

Ooooh yes! I remember now, the car salesman

The80sweregreat · 26/10/2016 10:12

yes,r Jason manford character was trying to stop people going round his house as his wife was very much alive (!), when one of his colleagues was talking to his little boy about his 'loss' at the door step was actually quite amusing as the poor kid had no idea what she was on about. Of course he got found out, as you would, although the woman he had a fling with in the car showroom wasnt happy about it, as you can imagine. ( theres a thread for you.) he kept his job though. Max Beesley played the boss, he was lovely.

DiegeticMuch · 26/10/2016 12:17

Great episode. Very relatable (I'd imagine) if you're a twentysomething with a low-level, £15k per annum job, and an uncertain relationship. I felt for her. The snide mother was like some of the mothers we read about on Relationships and AIBU.

CrazyDuchess · 26/10/2016 14:06

Agree with everyone else I much preferred this episode.

Looking forward to next week

Roussette · 26/10/2016 15:58

Can I join in?!
Wathed episode 1 on catchup directly before episode 2, enjoyed them both but did think the main man was a bit toooo larger than life.

Last night... Holly... oh my! I am glad she got sacked because the deception was pretty enormous! Boss's flat, car, job and even her bra! All a bit sad really and not sure if she was actually out for revenge with the ex (and intended hooking him then dumping him) or really was in love and wanted to get him back? (Phone went a couple of times so missed crucual bits possibly!)

PopFizz · 26/10/2016 17:05

Noel was playing Holly's warehouse boyfriend, the one whos jacket she washed, and who she dumped at the end :-(

The80sweregreat · 26/10/2016 17:17

I think she did want her ex back. I didn't recognise Noel from Hearsay!! he played Neil and I thought he was much nicer than Holly's ex was.
she was a real mess, I can see why someone would be a bit tempted to do these things - although I bet Jenna's life isn't all wonderful if the scene on the phone was anything to go by..

OP posts:
SavageBeauty73 · 26/10/2016 18:17

Really enjoyed last nights. I hated last week as I couldn't believe in the main character.

It's a good message about social media. Only the best bits go on.

NoahVale · 26/10/2016 19:10

yes her mother was a bitch! it was her fault in a way.
