She has a tendency to look like a teeny weeny Malcolm McDowell in drag when she does costume drama, that's for sure.
But she is a great actress with a long career in the classical theatre.

thought bonkers nanny was fantastic - that tone of voice she used was quite chilling - was the first time I've recorded Waking the Dead and watched Trial and Retribution instead!

I really like the cheesy split screens and the "I'm a Scottish git, I was solving murrrrder cases before you had straightening irons for your lovely blonde hair" type thing.

did you notice that Lewwwwwiiiiiiis (of Morse fame) has his own show now..he's obviously Important as when Taggart died, they still called it er Taggart even though the Scottish lass took over.

oh bundle, (as we are talking of crap TV ) you MUST watch Harry Hill's TV Burp. He loves taking the piss out of Trial and Retribution and I howled with laughter watching last week's one (I'll see if I can find some clips on youtube). It's on Saturday evening (shameful admission that I have No Life).

and lol at Lewis and Taggart. Do you know that the first episode of Lewis was an ENORMOUS ratings success? even the tv bods were surprised by how popular it was.

Funny you say that, I thought they could be related...it's those eyes...but anyhow, I am quite shocked she was only born in 71, so a year younger then me....she looked older to me, in this role anyway...
