It's dark, filthy, hilarious, and possibly one of the best things I've seen on telly all year. Phoebe Waller-Bridge deserves every award going, and Olivia Colman gives a masterclass in passive aggression.

I have! I cried at the last episode and actually at a few other moments.

Truly fantastic television

I binge-watched it after seeing the first one. Really excellent. One of the best comedies I've seen for years.

Loved it. I watched it (in 2 sittings) a couple of weeks ago and still thinking about it.

Yes it was superb, just so refreshing to have a female lead who was ambiguous. Did you like her? Did you sympathise with her? Or did you want her to get a grip?

Yep, total telly perfection. Beautifully written, performed, produced. Best thing I've seen this year.

I locked it. I watched all 6 episodes with a bottle of wine on my birthday as I was jet lagged and I adored every second of it. I love Olivia Coleman and the Fleabag character was played to perfection. Sometimes I wanted to hug her and sometimes I wanted to give her a skelp.

I loved the progression. It started off being raucous and a bit superficial but over the episode the layers just get added. It's brilliant. And so sad.

Agree bluesky, the lead is not always likeable but she's never anything less than compelling.

Oh I just adored it. My dh and I devoured the entire thing in a week. So funny and sad and such brilliant characters. Haven't enjoyed a series that much in ages.

As an aside, Olivia coleman is such a brilliant actress isn't she, whatever role she plays you completely forget every character she's played before.

she is just so pretty , but they are all just awful. Only watched two however and thought it was funny - OC was brilliant , when she asked if she could have the sculpture , the way she said 'no' was just so funny.
She is really upset over Boo, who sounds the perfect friend and her sister is just so horrible I want to punch her. I can imagine its not everyones cup of tea, but it has promise I think. will need to watch more. Off topic, but I miss lead balloon..

I was hoping to find a thread on this! Not caught up with it all yet but that first episode was fantastic. I hadn't heard anything about it and started off thinking it was Bridget Jones with steroids. Then you start to realise there's something very, very wrong .... Fabulous.

Give "Crashing" a go if you haven't already the lead actress is in that as well.

I had a lot of sympathy for the sister actually

I caught a bit of an episode yesterday and it seemed really compelling so started from the beginning tonight.

I cried laughing at times. It's rare to find tele that funny.

It must be difficult to act when you're constantly breaking the fourth wall but I thought she did it well. There's a lot of very disconcerting smiling in it.

Phoebe whatnot is very striking and I love everything OC is ever in.

Oh yes, loved it. Just brilliant and dark.

I loved the photo of the step mum on the artists board at her exhibition in the last episode, it was just perfect.
Turning to camera has been done so many times - on Miranda, on the office too - Laurel and Hardy started it all though - they used to put them on over the six weeks holidays when I was a kid ( long time ago now) and I often wondered why Hardy would look at the camera. It does work, you feel part of the action somehow ( well, I do!)
