Whats the story ?Is he trying to blackmail her?

Haven't watched Coro fo ra while but just caught a bit where he was leaving her house and missed what was happening.

He's told the police he saw charlie going for her with a knife and that she acted in self defence. Which he obviously didn't see. She was worried when she heard that he had made a statement that he had actually seen what had really gone on. So went to see him, was relieved that he was going with her self-defence line, and dropped a few clues as to how to corroborate her story. It seems like he realises he has a bit of a hold over her.

Is Gail really that bad as a mother?

David has the most dreadful storylines.
In real life she would be tearing her hair out by now and pleading for help. Where's Martin when you need him?

Is she paying him?

he's a cracking little actor. I truly hate his character
