Happy Valley - similar shows

I'm new to the Happy Valley party and have watched both series over 2 days and have really enjoyed it.

Any recommendations for anything similar?

Sarah Lancashire is brilliant!!

Broadchurch - the first series.

Last Tango In Halifax is from the same writer but it's not exactly gritty drama

I've seen it, it was really good, I couldn't get into the second series

Oooh, I might give line of duty a go. I think I saw half of the first series

Give LOD another go, series two and three with Keeley Hawes were fab

lol I've just loaded it up on Netflix and was just about to ask, do I need to watch 1 too?

The end of series one reveals who 'the Caddy' is, which is the recurring theme through the series, but no- if I recall correctly, two and three have their own stand alone storylines, I reckon you could pick up from there if you wanted to

Agree Line of Duty, it's brilliant and I still miss it now. The last episode of the last series had me screeching at the tv.

Hinterland.

Scott and Bailey by same writing/production team - more light weight than HV though.

Unforgiven. Same writer and almost as gritty as HV. Suzanne Jones is in it.
