We've just moved house, dd has just started full-time school and one of her cosiest moments of the day has been CBeebies bedtime hour cuddled up with me on the sofa. Until last night, suddenly out of the blue 'no signal' comes up on the screen. I've tried everything this morning to re-tune the digi box.

Anybody with any ideas???

I assume you have unplaugged it and then plugged it back in and waited for it to let you turn it back on

ooh actually, is it not sky?? sorry assumed it was. If it's not then can you contact the provider and ask for help.
I have sky and this happened on one channel and they just said oops must have got itself in a muddle and they said they would send some update or something (down the phoneline and it would sor it, which it did. Hope you sort it soon

Sure I'm stating the obvious but have you unplugged it and plugged it in again? Ours loses signal quite often or 'freezes' and this seems to get it going again.

IntergalacticWalrus · 23/01/2007 13:45

Mine does this whenever the weather turns slightly.

It pees me off, because it's always when DS1 needs to watch it (Or when I need him to watch it )

Sorry, no help, I'm afraid

Yes, I've plugged, unplugged, re-plugged, re-set all the channels, but channel 71 the cbeebies one is just not showing on the list. It was there yesterday morning. Now it's vanished ... This is only a digibox using freeview so not sure I can contact anybody for help?

IW, how does it go back to normal again after it's switched itself off?

Hmm. My folks' digibox has gone on the fritz since the bad winds. They 'lost' all ITV & Channel 4 channels. I found them at the very very bottom of their listing with new channel numbers (all beginning with 8) because the signal strength was very weak so the box reclassified them

imaginaryfriend · 23/01/2007 14:30

Ah, I'll check that out then, see if it's been given a new number ...

Nope, it's not there. The two we're missing are BBC4 and CBeebies. Weird, channel 71 and channel 9. Vanished! Boo hoo!

Are you on cable or is it Freeview?

bundle · 23/01/2007 14:33

can you re search for channels?

imaginaryfriend · 23/01/2007 14:51

freeview.

I've tried doing manual searches and it says the signal is medium but it won't add the channel to my list.

from freeview site:

Why have I lost some/all of my channels?
It happens sometimes, if you have a weak signal. Usually it just means you'll need to rescan your digital box or TV. Don't worry, it easy to do. And once you've done it, you should get all the Freeview channels available to you. If problems persist you may need to get your aerial checked. Talk to your retailer or contact your local aerial installer at www.cai.org.uk or www.idsc.uk.com.
