It really is simple, I don't know how you managed to cock it up so spectacularly.

Here is a handy step by step guide

1. Put some normal people in the house - no more than 12
2. Be strict
3. Give them tasks that involve participation and effort that last for a few days and nights.
4. Make them buy everything including cigs and alcohol on the shopping list.
5. Show the shopping list discussion and order on the telly
6. Don't mess about and give them access to the outside world
7. Put a decent presenter who can actually interview people on the exit show
8. Ta-da! People will watch and enjoy.
