Poll: House of Cards vs The Good Wife

I binge-watched S4 of Orange is the New Black and now need a box set to be my new Netflix obsession.

As well as OITNB, I also enjoy(ed) The West Wing, Game of Thrones, Six Feet Under and Parenthood, amongst others.

I've added both House of Cards and The Good Wife to my Netflix list.

Which should I start first?

House of cards.

Good wife.

The Good Wife - HOC is good but less fun to watch
In fact I found it quite depressing so sort of stopped on series 3

It depends what you want.

Good Wife is cracking good telly, with an ensemble cast of long-running characters in whom you really start to invest.

House of Cards is edge-of-your seat-unexpected political drama.

House of cards - excellent but also much shorter and less seasons. Starting the Good wife at this time of year is a big time commitment- save it for the autumn.HoC is better too imo!

From the comments so far, I like the sound of both. I don't mind a time commitment; GoT finishes this week and it's not as if there's much else on TV.

The good wife, couldn't stop watching it whereas HOC I have watched a few but not fussed about finish in the series

Which version of House of Cards? If it's the Ian Richardson one, that should definitely come first.

I enjoyed house of cards but I was completely addicted to The Good wife.
I may have been somewhat emotional on Thursday when series 7 finished
