That was very interesting, first time there has been convictions for spousal abuse in Camaroon in 17 years.
Now they are feminists!

it made me cry and that's quite hard to do.

What a brilliant programme - had me spellbound throughout. Amani's divorce had me biting my nails and lovely Manka made me sob. Come on Channel 4, lots more of these type of programmes.

after the programme there was a trailer for the channel 4 rape case that is on tonight. it made be realise how very different it is here.

the poor little girl who was raped and had to stand in the same room as the accused really upset me. the sly looks he kept giving her.

poor little manka, i really hope she can get on with her life and the experience won't have affected her irrepairably.

great sisters! really inspiring show

I saw this several months ago on More 4 and remember thinking that this should be on the mainstream channels. So glad that C4 showed it again. A powerful, illuminating and inspiring documentary that depicts the strength, hope, ambition as well as the yearning for self-determination of African women.

Those girls were so brave in front of their abusers and wasn't it strange that the aunt and husband wept copiously and that paedo. begged for a lenient sentence. I whooped when the judge 'slammed dunked' him with hard labour.

I guess when people are caught out, the only arsenal left are those tears!
