Just discovered it on boxsets - just finished episode 2. It's really gripping isn't it! Don't know how I missed it when it was on.

Is it terrible?

Series one is great, I watched it in two days. Series two is just frustrating and has a crap ending.

ShowOfHands · 10/06/2016 19:01

Series 1 was just superb. Olivia Colman was particularly memorable.

Series 2 was utter dross. Wish I'd never watched it.

yes to series 1 - so long as you don't see any 'spoilers'
it is well acted - even though I am not a fan of David Tennant
I have (in response to those who have seen it) avoided series 2 - series 1 was complete in itself and need no more episodes.
I understand there is a series 3 planned Shock - I hope I am wrong

TheImprobableGirl · 10/06/2016 19:35

I quite liked series two.... Quite unnecessary but I liked the continuation of the characters and I suspect it will lead quite heavily into series 3.

As long as you don't expect it to be as good as series 1, cos it just ain't

TheImprobableGirl · 10/06/2016 19:35

They are filming series 3 now :)

MissBattleaxe · 10/06/2016 19:36

Yes, they're making s3 now.

mollie123 · 10/06/2016 19:36

aargh - there is a series 3
Comedian, actor, writer, campaigner and knight bachelor Sir Lenny Henry has joined the ensemble cast of ITV's Broadchurch series three in an as-yet-undisclosed role. Don't expect it to be a comic part though, given the series' "serious sexual assault" storyline.

Broadchurch series three began filming in Dorset and is expected to continue shooting throughout the summer.

maybe it will all be fine Smile

mollie123 · 10/06/2016 19:37

sorry - slow to post as usual - drinking tea at the same time.

LunaLoveg00d · 10/06/2016 19:37

Agree that 1 was much better than 2. Loved the first series.

TheImprobableGirl · 10/06/2016 19:38

Mmmm yes I think one of the other characters is probably running from a previous sexual assault case.... I expect him to feature heavily in s3 :)

Season 2 should never have happened. It was such a let down and totally unnecessary

The first series was perfection. One of the best things I've ever watched.

MissBattleaxe · 12/06/2016 18:25

Agree. Series One was outstanding. Series Two was a bit lame in comparison.

iamdivergent · 12/06/2016 19:02

I've just finished episode 4 - i don't know who did it, so many suspects!

iamdivergent · 13/06/2016 18:01

Starting the last episode of season 1 now

SisterViktorine · 13/06/2016 20:28

It is brilliant. I live near West Bay (aka Broadchurch)- see it in a totally different light now! Grin

I have not, and do not intend to, watch Season 2 or 3.

iamdivergent · 13/06/2016 20:40

I am still Shock I can't believe who the killer was - amazing! Going to give season 2 a miss though.

MissBattleaxe · 13/06/2016 20:54

Yep, no need to watch S2. It really cheesed me off.
