The magician was a total bore.

I feel bad. The magician seemed like a lovely chap indeed, but I just find all magicians to be really boring.

I think it will be 1 of the young girl singers dont want them to win though not the dog he is very cute but not the dog

Judges' Wildcard seems a bit pointless. If not enough people could be bothered to vote for them on their heat, and not enough people could be bothered to vote for them in the Wildcard vote, then they have zero chance of coming anywhere in the final.

They really really really need to change the rules if they want any future in this programme. Get rid of kids and stop putting through hopeless acts and then maybe really talented people will be encouraged to apply. It is a farce at the minute. We need a return of Opportunity Knocks.

My dd (14) wants to give BGT a go next year. I am like Noooooo!!!! I see too many anti singing kids keyboard warriors on the internet. Have you seen the venom towards Jasmine and Beau this year? Two talented youngsters who merely entered BGT in an endeavour to get noticed (Not necessarily to win) Eek! I am not a pushy mum but dd is determined to give it a shot. What do I do?

The thing is Purple, you can call me a "keyboard warrior" if you like, but I genuinely just hate seeing kids put forward for things like this. I hate watching them. I will watch DD do stuff but I have zero interest in watching someone else's child show off.

The children sometimes sing quite well, but I have never seen an exceptional child on one of these things. And people vote for them because they are children, not because they are the best singer in a competition.

Jasmine & Beau - I've not seen venom. By "venom" do you mean people suggesting that they are not absolutely brilliant and the best thing we've ever seen on TV?

I wanted the Mimic Men to get the wildcard.

Anne where I have suggested that you, personally, are a keyboard warrior? Just take a look at the BGT pages to find absolute venom spouted towards child singers. You are right - I don't like watching other peoples kids either. I find the whole child actor/dancer/singer thing completely boring. That is probably the main reason why I object to my dd wanting to take part in this monstrous TV debarcle.

I didn't say you were calling me personally a keyboard warrior, I think there has been some misunderstanding. I prefaced my dislike of children in talent shows by saying "you can call me a keyboard warrior if you like, but...".

However, I misunderstood you - I thought you were talking about venom on MN.

And you are right - keep your child away from the horror that is BGT!

I sincerely wish all TV "Talent shows" would disappear into thin air. They put so much pressure on kids (and acts with a gimmick who are not talented) to try their luck. If parents give in (Maybe under sufferance, who knows?) they are then branded as "Pushy Parents". At the end of the day BGT, X Factor and The Voice are, firstly, TV entertainment programmes. Talent comes a poor second.
