Lol@ sunglasses wearing male leads!!
I don't watch Miami for him though. Woolf's another story all together!

tribpot · 16/01/2007 20:05

Ginge, quote me correctly, I meant that the Calleigh character was inferior to the Ainsley character that is all But as I genuinely believe TWW to be the best TV show of all time, I'm afraid I do think NY falls a bit short.

I refer you to Ainsley's opening episode and the many quotable quotes therein. She didn't even need to don sunglasses to make her point.

tribpot · 16/01/2007 20:08

Prison Break I am dying to watch cos the lead character is known to me only as Adam from Popular, commonly referred to as Alice by the home ec teacher, and wanted to be a male cheerleader (I believe 'Manazon' in the Glamzaons). I'm going to guess the Prison Break character probably has different ambitions

BUT - missed series 1. So how does a girl catch up, is it repeated or should one get S1 out on DVD rental?

gingermonkey · 16/01/2007 20:10

West Wing is fab, didn't manage to watch it very often (think it clashed with something) and agree that Calleigh is better than that (why do they make her wear white suits all the time, white suits should only be worn by Liz Hurley) But CSI Vegas is the best show of all time (only for Grissom, but not if he is with that Sidle creature, I shall turn it off in protest!!!!) Hee hee hee.

saltire · 17/01/2007 10:16

Gary Sinise was in Apollo 13 as well , again with Tom Hanks.
I still think he's great, far better than old "specs", and as for Grissom and that Sara Snidey , well, can't stand either of them. I used to like CSI Vegas, but it just strated getting boring

tribpot · 17/01/2007 19:28

Love Apollo 13 (sorry, rather off-topic now), must have been pretty difficult to create a film with genuine tension when everyone knows what happens at the end, but they achieved that I think!

PersonalClown · 17/01/2007 19:34

Now that we're veering off topic, I prefer GS in Green Mile with Tom Hanks.
That film always makes me cry. And it's on tonight on Film4!! YAY!

saltire · 17/01/2007 19:52

He and Tom Hanks must be great mates, the amount of films they have appeared in together. I can't remember him in Green Mile.
Any CSI Miami is on living tonight, so will have the ironing finished so i can watch it. In a totally different light now that i know loads of mumsnetters have the same opinions on Horatio as i do.
Surely they gave him that name as a joke

gingermonkey · 18/01/2007 07:16

I just love him, whatever he is in he is fab (but Forrest Gump has got to be one of my faves). If it's true about him wanting a regular job to spend time with his family then I love him even more!!!!!
Now, has anyone seen Grissom in anything else?...I saw a trailer for films on the Hallmark Channel and he was in one of them, but they didn't say the name of the film but I haven't spotted him in anything else before.

I have watched a few of these CSI Miami episodes on 5 US over the past couple of weeks and suddenly realised that curly sue is missing. You know the one with the long curly hair, was she married to horatios brother, or have his kid or something? Anyone know where she has disappeared to? Not that i'm worried, i just wish she had taken horatio with her

sideways · 23/01/2007 18:25

Didn't the brother mysteriously reappear from somewhere - not dead but just in hiding - and they both flew off into the sunset to start a new life together. It was something ridiculous like that anyway.

If my dh reappeared after years of pretending to be dead, I'd give him a real bollocking, never mind get on a plane with him.

saltireneepsandtatties · 23/01/2007 18:28

A bit like the Dallas dream story then? So what series is it that's on 5 US at the minute, i'm all confused with eps on 5US, 5, living etc!
And did the brother not take the other woman away with him, the one who Horatio was buying a house for, has the wee girl who was ill?

AnAngelWithin · 23/01/2007 18:30

when does series 5 start on telly? as in, not sky? I only started watching from series 3 but had series 1 and 2 boxsets for christmas and have watched them all already

Lucycat · 23/01/2007 18:33

Here you go!! everything you wanted to know about CSI Miami, courtesy of TV.com!!

great website for all the American shows especially.

LittleBoSheep · 23/01/2007 18:49

Oh thank god I thought it was just me Miami is strangely hypnotice in a B movie kind of way - im always going to hubby "why do the sunglasses keep going on & off" we always wait for

  1. Horatios personal threat to the sneering criminal.
  2. Moody brooding entrance from the lift
  3. Mooning longing gazes to brothers ex.

My mum has the hots for him though...Nooooooo...

Sorry Grissom all the way for me, did have a bit of a sly hankering for Warwick until I saw a recent photo of him on a beach and he had a paunch.

danceswithnewboots · 23/01/2007 19:17

Grissom, Grissom, Grissom!

Horatio (david wotsit) is SUCH a bad actor. Dh and I have a cheese rating 1-10 for the line he says when he reaches the crime scene... ie man found electrocuted - Horatio says 'well the killer is in for shock now we're on the case' etc etc.

New York CSI sucks.

saltireneepsandtatties · 23/01/2007 19:22

Nooooooooooo, CSI New York is great, especially Mac, aka Gary Sinise, at least he doesn't have sunglasses, and stand with his hands on his hips , showing off his poilce badge

LittleBoSheep · 23/01/2007 20:00

Notice we KEEP watching it though!

saltireneepsandtatties · 24/01/2007 08:08

Lucycat, i read some things on that link. Very interesting, Horatio doesn't have much luck with his women does he?.
When is it that the new series starts?

ClareL · 24/01/2007 12:51

The lady with Curly hair was married to Horatio's brother - Ray. He was supposed to be dead - but found out that he had gone undercover and was in fact alive. He came back into the prog for a couple of episodes but was in deep deep trouble with the people he had gone undercover to catch. Ended up with Horatio hiring a private jet and without telling the lady with curly hair that Ray was on the plane, he just told her to be at the airport with a suitcase and Ray Jr. When they turned up they saw Ray and they all flew off into the sunset!!
