I wasn't going to watch it and the first 5 minutes I thought was a bit Hmm
But it's starting to warm up.

"If only I could read" Grin

Not rolling in the aisles yet.

dun1urkin · 06/05/2016 22:20

I think they used all the funny bits in the trailers

dun1urkin · 06/05/2016 22:21

And what's with the gypsy thing? I don't get that at all

Dowser · 06/05/2016 22:21

Is Kate really of gypsy stock? I know she's Jewish didnt know she was a gypsy too.

dun1urkin · 06/05/2016 22:22

The fascinators on the wall were pretty funny though

sunflowersinthesun · 06/05/2016 22:22

I didn't understand that either?!

MuttonCadet · 06/05/2016 22:31

Loving it, very funny.

Dowser · 06/05/2016 22:40

Hat bit made me chuckle

stareatthetvscreen · 07/05/2016 03:01

i thought it was v good

fascinators = fab

gypsy thing is just a random lol re her background no?

Yoksha · 11/05/2016 14:28

Watched 2 episodes on catch-up. Freakin' hilarious. The scene where Prince Andrew's 2 girls were sitting with their cousin Prince Harry asking if their mum - Fergie could come to his charity ball. Genius! Harry can't read Grin, he gives a letter to one of his cousin's saying " here's a letter from granpa ( Prince Philip) about your mum". One cousin reads it out verbatim. She's not even bright enough to elicite an invitation through lying about Philip's instructions.

Can't wait for 3rd episode Friday @ 10 pm.

OutToGetYou · 11/05/2016 14:59

I think it's amusing - the Kate bit is just a dig at her being a 'commoner' I think.

It's all overblown tongue in cheek stuff. Some of them are scarily like the real versions though. The Fergie is ace!

EachandEveryone · 12/05/2016 14:53

Im just catching up now. How on earth have they got away with it? Hysterical.

Sotaku · 13/05/2016 09:28

I'm loving this too. They played on our impressions of the royals perfectly. With Harry being a playboy who can't read, Charles having his causes, Camilla being conniving, Kate a commoner/gypsy, Fergie an outcast, etc. The queen is absent so I wonder if that's a step too far or if Paul Whitehouse will be making an appearance as her.

OutToGetYou · 13/05/2016 09:41

No Andy yet either? He's got to be good for a few laughs, hanging around with Sheiks....

lily219 · 14/05/2016 05:52

The Kate/gypsy thing's just a joke - exaggerating the idea that's she relatively 'common' (i.e. not royal or aristocratic). I think the programme's brilliant!

Yoksha · 14/05/2016 08:57

The Princess's Eugenie & Beatrice are absolutely hilarious. They steal the show for me. It's really close to the bone tho' The Three Degrees etc had me chewing my knuckles.

ppeatfruit · 14/05/2016 13:53

Yes this is funny in a cartoonish sort of way; not to be taken seriously ,I love Camilla, the evil stepmother, I love Aidan thingy anyway.

Swanclaw · 14/05/2016 13:57

I watched this week and wondered how they managed to get a series. It's just so silly! I'm also really enjoying it though. Harry doing the jigsaw puzzle was brilliant.

officerhinrika · 14/05/2016 20:33

I liked the references to The Archers, Kate & William going to the Cat and Fiddle etc.

EachandEveryone · 14/05/2016 20:50

Its hard to believe Kate lives with Rowan Atkinson in rl.

NicknameUsed · 14/05/2016 20:54

I haven't watched last night's episode yet.

I love it when Hugh Dennis does his royal family voice overs on Mock the Week.
