Bake off creme de La creme anyone watching?

Just watched the first episode. Is great TV but the hosting chef is a very odd choice. And he refused to taste any of the food (I think he lost a lot of weight recently). Why have him a host of he isn't going to taste? He has no hosting style or charisma.

The judges are brutal!

We're watching and really enjoying it. Am in awe at the pastry chefs ability.

Yes - he lost 10 stone which is amazing - I think he warms up as the series progresses.

it's amazing, but makes me feel full in a strange way.

We had been watching it for weeks, when DD2 suddenly realised she has met Cherish Finden, who was lovely to her, and very complimentary about her school art portfolio.

AND

The people who won last week are from a little patisserie where I had bought a cake a few days earlier (a Normandy apple tart - mmmmmmm!)

I know! I'm just amazingly well connected!

Watching them make all the tiny cakes is strangely addictive, but looking at that French judge is even more so . I think he's my new celebrity crush

Yes yes yes. He is absolutely delicious. I think in in love with him and his accent. .... he's a bit flirty though.

He's also married just not fair! I'd not noticed the flirty bit tho.
Back to the cakes..I don't eat cakes, haven't a sweet tooth at all, but I'm fascinated by the precision needed to create these miniatures, so loving it.

The small judge is dynamite. Me and ds are obsessed with her. Brutal.

I've enjoyed the other episodes more than the first one.

There's some serious skill on display though. There's nothing I can be bothered to try making though.
