Aren't they great? DD and I watched this together and I reminded her that even the one who came last had done well because it was hard even to get on in the first place. You know the sort of thing: "they all did their best!" I watched in great admiration wondering a) if I'd have known all this stuff when I was 11 and b) how many state school contestants they get.
It's a shame they are only allowed to compete with first names - obvious why, but still a sad reflection on our society.
DD wants to go on when she is 11! she would do questions on the Solar System.
JMM and Raven/ Raven the Island - which tests ingenuity and teamwork - are a great counterbalance to all the dumbed-down kids' TV involving people being gunged and asked questions about Justin fecking Timberland.
