Am watching it tonight for the first time in a couple of weeks. I am a bit confused.
Why is Jack wanting Sam to apply for a DI's job, is Neil Manson leaving?
Why is Jo back?

Hi. It's recording ATM so can't answer the question about Sam applying for DI job. Nothing has been mentioned about Neil leaving, but he does often have childcare pobs so maybe thats why.

Jo is back because the actress is back from mat leave.

I hope Neil's not leaving!
