BoSelecta I think you're right! I've only started watching this in the last few weeks as on maternity leave, and now I'm addicted, gaaaaah! It's just about manageable for my level of tiredness.... The more tired I am, the more the plotlines make sense. Which is probably not good.

bring - 6tl stands for sixth time lucky. This is the 6th time the actress has been on Doctors, all other times were just one offs, so she got lucky on the 6th time and got a permanent role.

I really hope she doesn't end up neglecting the baby, especially with her lovely bloke. I also was thinking surely he should get a chance to be a dad rather than a third party foster carer?

I see that after this week we have a five day "issue" plot coming up. I hate those. I hate the way they shoe-horn worthy stuff into Doctors every now and then. I prefer gangster clowns.

Although given this is Doctors, the chance of them getting this to be realistic was never high. It would have been really helpful if they could have done it properly.

I think that's a situation that needs to be considered at the time though, not when they are together. It shouldn't make any difference at this point.

There's no reason the father couldn't take the child if the split and the mother couldn't cope. I don't think he has a similar history.

The meeting was a child protection conference, they make a decision re CP monitoring or lower level monitoring or whether to go for a interim care order (which you need court for). Another option in this case would be for the Father to leave Mother and look after the child. I've referred families who were having subsequent children after one+ was removed but only one had the future children removed so it's not a guarantee. Never been to a CP conference where previous SW from a while ago were there, usually just represented on paper.
(Ex-family worker so I'm only going off what I've worked rather than masses of knowledge)
