Strictly speaking you're not supposed to so this but all you need is a willing family member/friend with a UK address and you can apply for one....

Oh, I didn't realise it was 'not permitted'.

Does this friend in UK have to have a satellite installed?

Actually I heard that regulations have recently been relaxed. Can you ask at one of the local tv/electrical shops or look \link{http://www.insatinternational.com/here} for example.

sorry here

We just take our UK box with us when we go to France and connect it to the satellite dish which we had installed for £40 next to our mobile home. It works fine and I know a lot of other UK home owners in France do the same thing.
