A young Neil Pearson, I still would. Wink

A lot of the situational stuff is still quite funny, even if the news related stuff doesn't make as much sense anymore.

I really love DTDD! You've reminded me to dig out the DVDs Smile

VikingLady · 09/01/2016 23:01

Oh, and so would I Grin

NewYearSameMe · 09/01/2016 23:02

It's on 4OD, all six series, if you can't find the DVDs.

Might have to look that up!

TwoLeftSocks · 09/01/2016 23:12

I'm currently re-watching all of Father Ted, I'll look it up after this.

Fishboneschokus · 09/01/2016 23:15

He's in 'by the Pricking of My Thumbs' by Agatha Christie on ITV hub if you want to look at a later version.

ILoveWillSmith · 11/01/2016 21:11

I used to love DTDD! Damien placing his teddy bear at every disaster scene to make it more tragic! Don't imagine that happens in RL do you? Wink

NewYearSameMe · 11/01/2016 21:54

Oh no, I'm sure foreign crisis reporting is of the highest moral calibre. Wink

I've just seen young Daniel Craig doing a terrible East End accent in series 3.

I loved DTDD. I'm glad it can be accessed on 4OD. Must watch some.

Destinysdaughter · 11/01/2016 23:48

I loved DTDD! Wish they'd bring it back, it would be brilliant! And Neil Pearson, he was hot!

Tiggeryoubastard · 11/01/2016 23:51

Sally, the hotbed of repression and the totally opposite to her male newsreader were fantastic. I loved that series.

NewYearSameMe · 12/01/2016 20:28

My favourite was Joy, she was vicious. Grin

VikingLady · 12/01/2016 20:37

Damien had a teddy and a blood stained plimsol iirc. Mum and I used to look for that kind of thing on the real news I still do

StandoutMop · 12/01/2016 20:38

Joy was (and still is) my heroine. She was awesome.

Siwi · 12/01/2016 20:39

And he dunked a healthy seabird in oil from an oil slick.

Twistedheartache · 12/01/2016 20:40

Love it - and I so would too

IfItsGoodEnough4ShirleyBassey · 12/01/2016 20:40

We now get a channel called London Live which plays forgotten nineties sitcoms on hard rotation. They went through a DTDD phase, and it was brilliant.

TendonQueen · 12/01/2016 20:44

Ooh Shirley what else do they show?

IfItsGoodEnough4ShirleyBassey · 12/01/2016 20:52

They're doing Black Books at the moment, which is a stone cold classic but not quite as exciting because one of the Channel 4s was showing it recently, and also I have all the DVD.s.

They recently did a Green Wing binge which was great. And Coupling which is a guilty pleasure.

HarrietSchulenberg · 12/01/2016 21:00

Well that's my weekend viewing sorted then Grin. I loved DTDD and modelled myself on Joy when I was a PA. I must have been a delight (but still got promotions so can't have been too awful).

I too had a Black Books and Green Wing binge recently so am really looking forward to this one.

Siwi · 12/01/2016 21:16

Black Books, Dodd and Green Wing are all on Channel 4 OD. And the IT Crowd.

lorelei9 · 12/01/2016 21:21

ah, is that series the one with a very young Ben Daniels? Just 1 ep, starring as Henry's nephew I think.

I prefer him older tbh but when I dug it out online, I did think I would have fancied him if I had seen it at the time.

Destinysdaughter · 12/01/2016 22:52

Also fancied Neil Pearson in Bridget Jones, although his character was a bit of a sleaze. It was like he was the same character just a bit older!

coffeeisnectar · 12/01/2016 23:05

Oh I loved it. I remember when they had all the prisoners walking in a circle to make it look like hundreds. His reports were never quite what he wanted.

And joy was the best badly named character ever. :o

PerspicaciaTick · 12/01/2016 23:16

I often mutter "behind me, scenes of complete devastation" when watching particularly hyperbolic RL news reports. It helps me remember that all may not be as it seems.
