I wondered about that too. I enjoyed it a lot. I'll never get round to reading the book !

Yes, I've just watched it this evening & noticed that. I thought the costumes were pretty rubbish, really. Still can't decide if I liked the adaptation or not, but I'll give it a bit longer.
