Just wondering if anyone has been watching The Knick with Clive Owen?

It's set in a NYC hospital in 1900 with Clive as a tortured genius type surgeon. I've got really into it and no one else I know seems to like it Sad

Is it onto a second series? I watched the first. Really gripping stuff.

museypants · 01/01/2016 23:53

Yeah it just finished in America, not sure when/if it will air here. I've watched a few eps of s2 online and it really explores the other characters around Thack more which is interesting.
This does deprive me of Clive Owen screen time however!

Ooooh sounds good.
Will get DD to hack into some website and enable me to watch it.

museypants · 02/01/2016 18:19

If you're into turn of the century stuff and hunky doctors with a bit of gore thrown in - it's ideal!

I've watched to the end of S2, gruesome at times but compelling.

Begentleimnewhere · 02/01/2016 19:09

I love it but I think they could be a bit less graphic! I have to cover my eyes everytime they show the woman with her arm attached to her nose.

Begentleimnewhere · 02/01/2016 19:10

BTW I'm only halfway through S1 so I'm guessing she doesn't stay that way forever.

museypants · 02/01/2016 19:19

I haven't got to the end of s2 yet but i saw a huge spoiler Angry

Ahh Abbie.. she's a nice character, I love how she gives a bit of history to Thack. What do you all make of Lucy? Did you know the woman who plays her is Bonos daughter?

I loved it, hope there is a s3 forthcoming...!

museypants · 02/01/2016 22:58

Apparently cinemax have ordered a script for S3 and will decide whether to produce it once they've read it. So fingers crossed!

I've seen both seasons and I think it's brilliant! I'm a fan of both period dramas and shows set in hospitals so it was just perfect for me. Thack is such an interestingly complex character and I also love Bertie.

I hope we do get a third season!

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 03/01/2016 13:49

Is it on Netflix?

TheCrazyDuchess · 03/01/2016 13:52

Sorry to derail but Simon I just love your name - easily my most gave episode of the phone shop hands down!!

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 03/01/2016 14:04

Oh Ive never watched Phone Shop. Grin

Changed my user name when MN got hacked and DadSec the hacker was spouting a load of shit including "who the fuck is simon". I can't even remember who Simon actually was!

TheCrazyDuchess · 03/01/2016 14:07

Haha oh my mistake! (Very new here)

Simon was one of the characters dogs in phoneshop and another said "who the fuck is Simon. ...why does he have a human name...."

Was ridiculously funny but I am a simple soul!!!

museypants · 03/01/2016 14:21

It's not on Netflix simon but available online if you look hard enough or to buy on amazon.

I have a definite soft spot for Thack sofiria but I always do when it comes to tortured genius characters. Bertie is adorable though.

museypants · 05/01/2016 20:25

museypants · 11/01/2016 23:44

I've just got the last episode of s2 to watch now.. I keep putting off watching it because I don't want it to end!

FurryTrousers · 02/03/2016 13:14

I'm near the end of S2 now too. I love it - it's so atmospheric. But nobody I know watches it!Confused

museypants · 02/03/2016 13:45

It's so good, such a shame it's underrated. Clive owen is brilliant.

ruddynorah · 02/03/2016 13:52

It's my favourite series! I've watched both seasons on Now TV.
