I was a huge fan of back in time for dinner and loved the family.
Great they are back! Anyone else watching?

I'm watching! I like this family. Sobering to think of shortages/ rationing at Christmas from 1940 to 1954 - some children, that would be all they had ever known.

And asbestos snow!

LauraChant · 14/12/2015 21:13

I love that 40s hair!

megletthesecond · 14/12/2015 21:14

Rochelle's little wave at the Queen!

megletthesecond · 14/12/2015 21:49

I still have one of those gnome decorations! (Passed down from parents decs)..

Shinyshoes2 · 14/12/2015 21:52

Choc cigarettes and pipes as a kids Christmas gift
Never heard of Johnny 7 Hmm

LauraChant · 14/12/2015 21:53

Lots of those 60s decs look familiar - they were still hanging around our decoration box in the late 70s/80s! I remember those kind of crepe paper strips and I wasn't born til 1975.

Shinyshoes2 · 14/12/2015 21:54

He got her a Hoover Wine

Lilymaid · 14/12/2015 21:56

Remember the chocolate cigarettes etc which were in my stocking every year but neither DH nor DB ever got a Johnny 7 - or had heard of one!

5Foot5 · 15/12/2015 13:48

DH had heard of a Johnny Seven and was as excited about it as Brandon seemed to be.

Love this programme - second part tonight (Tuesday). Look forward to seeing the 70s Christmas

AmIthatautumnal · 15/12/2015 21:29

I didn't realise it was on last night. It seems to be the 1940s that I'm watching just now, though

LauraChant · 15/12/2015 21:32

I forgot it was on again tonight - have missed the start of 1970s!

LauraChant · 15/12/2015 21:32

As I did in real life actually

AmIthatautumnal · 15/12/2015 21:37

Ah, BBC 2 Scotland is showing the first one now, which explains why I am currently watching them looking around their 50s house

I'd forgotten how much I loved this family

LauraChant · 15/12/2015 21:40

This is going to be a rather disjointed conversation autumnal since we are watching two different programmes Wink

Ah, the 80s, my era.

AmIthatautumnal · 15/12/2015 22:15

Next instalment on Thursday 😀

LauraChant · 15/12/2015 22:16

I liked your episode more Grin

MrsLogicFromViz · 17/12/2015 22:45
