SNOWBall4girlz · 11/12/2006 22:57

really liked this series but it is very very realistic and scared me a bit too cant wait for finale anybody get their comeuppance?

tutu100 · 11/12/2006 23:20

The book is by Jed Mercutio although I've probably spelt that wrong

franca70 · 12/12/2006 17:03

A few months ago I read that a third series hadn't been recommissioned by the bbc (I even wrote a complaint!), so I'm just sooooo happy that there is a finale... still hope they change their mind and go for a third series, it is one of the best thing on TV ever!

has it got clammy big-pored lizard man in it again?

franca70 · 12/12/2006 17:12

yes, I think so (which one, though????)

OP posts:
unknownrebelbang · 13/12/2006 21:32

gentle reminder for fans.

lulumama · 13/12/2006 21:34

thanks.......25 minutes to go !

franca70 · 14/12/2006 09:25

I enjoyed every minute of it.
However, being Italian and English not being my first language, I do sometimes have problems in understanding, so I didn't get exactly what's gonna happen to Rob (max beesley). Has he got cjd? what?????
I'm sad that it's finished. As i said I read months ago that it had been axed by bbc2 because it didn't have a significant audience...
shame. the actors were all fantastic. especially mr hurley.
Actually the whole hurley persona deserves a debate....

OP posts:
bundle · 14/12/2006 09:51

I think the raised eyebrow look by Max Beesley at the end leaves it wide open. fabulous programme. can't believe they axed it

BettySpaghetti · 14/12/2006 09:55

It was brilliant wasn't it, but I still feel that you were left wondering how some things were going to turn out, especially about the CJD thing (and English is my first language franca70! ). However by that time I was so tired I was fighting to stay awake as I didn't want to miss the end!

I still can't believe that they are not going to do another series. Its so rare that a decent drama with such a good cast comes along and then, when it does, they drop it.

Gizmo · 14/12/2006 09:57

I missed the last 30 minutes! And now the withdrawal symptoms are getting intense (twitch, gibber)

Does anyone want to summarise what happened?

bundle · 14/12/2006 10:04

beesley went bonkers when polly went into labour, stopped hurley from doing the c/s (baby was breech) saying he was dangerous. did the c/s himself but was all a bit testosteroney. polly realised that he wasn't thinking of her, but his battle with hurley. she doesn'twant anything to do with him. beesley reported hurley to teh gmc for botching and also risking polly's life (which of course he's making up - but feels he's making amends for all the other women/babies who've lost their lives over years). creepy gynae allen asked polly if he was in with a chance - she didnt' rule it out. (yuk)
ended with neuro giving results of vCJD test to beesley - who just looked straight into camera...emotions difficult to read (he'd already taken out critical illness life cover and the chance of him having a degenerative illness spurred him on to grass up hurley). his scottish ex kind of wimped out of her journalistic expose (thought her character was the least convicing which was strange as I loved her in the last series)
does that make sense?

franca70 · 14/12/2006 10:15

Gizmo. I'll try to summarize but think my english is not good enough...
polly goes into labour and needs an emergency c section, as baby is breech. Hurley is on duty! In the middle of the operation rob says he's going to scrub and step in, as Hurley is putting polly's and baby's life in danger (didn't understand why). polly is obviously very upset. rob delivers lovely baby girl. polly tells rob he used her c section as an excuse to fight with hurley, that he doesn't are about her and the baby and he's not going to see the baby growing up (...). Rob reports hurley to I don't know which authority. Hurley is suspended (I think). (actually, do you think he deserves this? cause, I think he was evil in the first series, but it wasn't so clear cut in the second series....)
Rob goes to see richard, his doctor, who gives him the results of his tests, and rob rises his eyebrows. the end.
sorry, my english is crap

I agree about the scottish ex!

zeebee · 14/12/2006 18:16

Can't believe I missed this as loved the two series. Does anyone know if it is being repeated and when? Have been trying not to read the summaries below in case it is!!

mrsratty · 14/12/2006 18:19

I feel so annoyed with myself as I thought it was a repeat, someone tell me it will be on again soon!!!!

franca70 · 14/12/2006 21:03

it wasn't a repeat! It was the finale. Anyway, the dvd of the first series is out now, the dvd with the second series plus yesterday's finale is coming out on the 26th (I'm well informed, as today I asked my local whsmith...). I'm going to buy the whole lot after xmas (if I have money left, that is...)

DingDongDraculaOnHigh · 15/12/2006 00:02

ok just watched this on vid

HOW did they diagnose CJD as primary possibility from those symptoms WHAT a load of arse

Otherwise FAB

franca70 · 16/12/2006 10:56

Yes I thought the cjd was a bito over the top.
I bought the book yesterday!

OP posts:
TwoIfBySanta · 16/12/2006 20:09

It was utterly fab though.

Am glad they finished it while it was still good, though if they have tripe like Casualty and Holby City cluttering up the schedules permanently why can't they have decent real-ro-life dramas like this?

franca70 · 16/12/2006 23:05

Yes, but I'm going to miss it though
