I'll be there. to drool over Idris Love this series. The theme song gives me goosebumps. DD watched them all recently and I watched that station scene with Luther, Alice, ex wife's boyfriend and corrupt cop - unbelievably powerful stuff. I hope Alice will be in this - do we know?

Dh had taped some episodes to watch on Iplayer in France last year - in a holiday home miles from anywhere with a flimsy lock on the door. Fucking nightmare. Couldn't sleep. It was the episode with the man in the loft wrapped in plastic....

do i need to know a back story or just tune ni and watch

I don't expect you would need to watch the other 3 series but it would give you more understanding of why he's so tortured. Plus it's so good, it's really worth watching.

I'm thinking about watching the first 3 series again before the new one. I'm finding that I've forgotten a lot of it from the catch up. Will have to find the time because I'm dying to watch the new series!
