The use of the word 'gallant'. You don't hear it much. Reminds me of the Irish Proclamation in 1916, in which the Irish rebels referred to our gallant allies in Europe, that is, the Germans fighting the British during ww1. Ojur enemies enemy is our friend, kind of thing.
